First of all thank you for all who came along to support me.

Really disappointed the way the car let me down, as I lapped earlier in the year at Mallory on a damp track in 51seconds on track day tyres in the damp, so on proper race tyres I was hoping for a good result rain or shine.

Unfortunately the car sprung an oil leak from the off which meant I limped around with a slipping clutch contaminated with the oil in qualifying and the race resulting in finishing 16th out of 22 finishers !

Next and last race is at Brands in three weeks time and by then with oil leak sorted and my freshly rebuilt dog box back in the car hopefully I can come away with a better result.

Gear box went back to Grebe who made the gearbox and they found the cause of my gear change issues. When I bought the gear box it had been freshly rebuilt by a Ford gear box "specialist" in Essex. Turns out this wonderful "specialist" left a rouge nut inside which trapped the selectors.

Now I know why it was so hard to get into gear and I snapped two gear leavers!! Grebe who are now repairing and upgrading the box are staggered it went into any gear at all.

I followed the qualifying session on TSL, then the first race live streamed. I realised something was seriously amiss when I saw your laptimes  :(

I hoped you'd be able to fix whatever it was for the 2nd race  but then saw you were not able to make it to the grid  :(

The grid formation for the first race was a complete farce! What were the marshals doing??

I hope you can get everything fixed in time for Brands to end the year with a good finish  :icon_thumleft:

Getting ready for the last race of the season at Brands Hatch next week

Glebe Engineering https://glebe.co.uk/ have fully rebuilt and updated the T5 Dog box they would have manufactured themselves many years ago. With all help gratefully received they have decided to sponsor me as well. The owner Nick Cresswell is a long term current racer himself and will hopefully be out himself in Thunder Saloons next year with a spaceframe Escort.

With Glebe Engineering having done work for Mercedes F1, I am super confident the gear box will now be reliable and change gear correctly, finally. With what they found, they do not now how it ever changed gear at all !!

Couple of pictures have popped up, one shows how wet it was at Mallory and the second shows the nose with more canards, but for Brands we will have more

All set for tomorrow, car and gear box all OK,

Did 34 Laps including a high speed spin coming off the end of Cooper straight during the afternoon only session on a very cold track with not much heat in the tyres,

BEST LAP TIME : 53.174 Achieved on Lap 34!
Adding up the three sector times, ultimate could have been just 3 tenths quicker which means I got pretty much as much as I could out of it on the day.

Not quite sure how tomorrows Handicap race works as the faster cars will start further back on the grid and its not necessarily the fastest car that will win  ???  We shall see !
