Qually didn't go well it would seem  :(

Clive spent most of the time in the pitlane and got out just before the end of the session but wasn't able to set a time before the session was closed.

Starting from the back of the grid then - nothing new  :)

A repeat of the memorable Donington race, starting from the pit lane, then up to 2nd place until the very last corner ..................

Good luck in the race Clive - I should be back just in time from the footie to listen in  :icon_thumleft:

Well what a rubbish day and season so far.

Started last due to the car going into limp mode and not getting a full lap in !

Started by overtaking a few on the first lap but then the safety car came out with a full course yellow (no overtaking) however a car decided it was a good opportunity to overtake me again!!.

Come the restart the gear leaver that came with the gearbox decided to snap off just above where its bolted on, leaving me to limp back in one gear.

To cap it all the clerk of the course summoned me for an interview for my version of the safety car episode, now for whatever reason he wants all the drivers surrouding the car in question in his office at 9am for a full investigation. Hopefully after that I will succeed in filing and drilling what's left of my gear leaver to get some sort of a race in.

Keep your cool Champion. It will come back to you.
Do we know what the limp was for? The obd plug is in the car and a scan tool read would be prudent.

I think that was very respectable 24 to 12 well done!
The pace of the front running cars is pretty impressive too.
Im sure you already have some plans.

Thanks Jon.

Enjoyed this race "finally" shame the rear camera wasn't running as I had some good hard dices.
After the weekend I had with the car I didnt even try and dial the car in better, but still disapointed that the car was no faster than last year!

Still struggling with the gear box so I will see if its possable to get it  out and in before Mallory.

Itll all come good.. battling and racing is a slower lap time as you know. Looking forward to 2nd race vid all the ovetakes.

In the circumstances, starting from the back in a 15 minute race in that company, that is a very respectable finish position Clive - well done :notworthy:

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Thank you for the comments.
With no qualifying or track time, I had no chance to set the car up or try different things to get some speed.
Just happy that after a rubbish saturday I got a race on sunday with no issues.

Still not happy with the gearbox so its going to come out for a rebuild

Great race from the back of the grid and a really exciting finish - and despite the gearbox. Well done!   :icon_thumright:
Btw wonder what's under the bonnet of that yellow/white Anglia. Held its ground amazingly well, unlike those rather pedestrian Escort mk1s.
