A few hairy moments, otherwise a fairly "lonely" race

Couple of decent pictures from last weekend below.

Really rubbish race fighting all the time with the gear box, no flow unable to concentrate on being smooth = junk lap speeds !

"Hopefully" after mailing Grebe who made the box and finding I have been running the wrong viscosity oil, so maybe now the thing will change down. Looking for a better showing at Brands and if the box is still not playing, I will pull it and get it stripped.

As I was a little worried about the engine with its new pair of housings costing  £1500, so since the last post the engine has been out, stripped checked and sitting back in the bay, Thanks go to Steve for giving me a hand getting the engine lifted in and out plus Milling my manifold flange as we had a bad blow at Combe.

Looking forward to the next event at Brands that has now become a three day event with a full day test on the Friday, four half hour sessions should run it in properly.

Pleased to announce that Tein have sponsored the RX-8 with one of their excellent Mono Circuit Racing Coil over kits, which is a newly developed product.

After seeing the picture posted from Castle Combe with the front wheel nearly off the ground I decided I had to do something ! and Tein have come forward to help.

They had sponsored me in the past with their amazing EDFC system which allows me to change damper settings on the move, to adjust understeer and oversteer, it's also great for making the dampers softer if it rains. Been selling Tein products for the last 20 years with never an issue, so I am looking forward to setting this up for Brands in two weeks time.

Testing all day Friday then racing Saturday and Sunday  (Timetable Attached)

Sadly, I won't be able to make it to Brands. I have to put the front end of my FB back together tomorrow in time for the Phil Blake event on Saturday. Decided to take care of some surface rust on the front end whilst I had the bumper off to sort out after a minor ding. All progressing well, but taking longer than I had planned

Had a good day testing, in wet dry conditions

Last run of the day spent 1/2 an hour on it and came away happy especially with my Michelin intermediates that operated on a soaking track and weren't bad when the track rapidly dried.

Checked the color of the plugs plus  the compression and all is good

   Saturday and Sunday in the CTCRC BOSS/Thunder series racing under new race number #787

Saturday:-
Qualifying 10.20
Race 4 15.05pm

Sunday:- Race 13 - 14.40pm
