I know I have an eye for detail, but am I the only one who falls in love with how the frenched aluminium headlight shroud flows nicely into the grille at the bottom?

These are cars that were designed by people who had passion, design flare, individuality and a pencil and paper. Not this modern world of how all cars look the same.

Agree! That's a very good example. The first Familia shared italian design influences with the Luce 1500/1800, but the attention to details continued. Just take door handle design as an example! Nice, chunky, chrome-plated metal, not the plastic kitchen-cupboard handles we are served in the 21st century. Model specific designs, just look at the Rx4/929! The Mx5 NA famously has the last state-of-the-art Mazda doorhandles.
