Yeh it's not a great colour scheme is it.

Been chatting to the lad, it needs front suspension and hubs, and wheels to fit those hubs.

Looking at 1800 for the struts and brakes and another 1200-1400 for the wheels, plus tyres...

Thats to make it a rolling chassis however 6k spent gets me to where I am now except I have to start again mounting everything.

Sneaked into the garage whilst gf wasn't in a bad mood. Could do with replacing the cam bolts on the suspension as they're not the best

Undone the 4 screws in the second picture as hoping that would split the hub apart but think it's going to need some "hulk smash" to seperate

Thrown some degrease on them and scrubbed with wire brush, going to hit them with the jet wash, remove bushings and install new bushings if I get enough time tomorrow

Found the easy way to remove bushings. But if m10 rid, some m10 nuts, a spanner and fire

There will be a steel sleeve left in once the rubber Bush has popped out, just cut that with a hack saw and use a hammer and chisel to drive it out

Finally clean the arms a bit and spray with paint before squashing the new bushes in and mount back on car.

Going to tackle the lower arms now, they won't be as easy

I like the idea of how you removed them
Bottom arms ain't too bad so long as you got that nice plumbers torch full of gas

These front suspension bushes are piece of piss, million times easier to remove than the rear suspension

Even got this donuts in with some force and lots of ducking out of the way

Use hole saw to cut most of the bsuh away, then use the vice an various pieces of metal to squeeze the old bushes out and apply heat to the outer piece and they just pop right out. Cutting the outer metal liner of the old Bush with a hack saw makes removal of the rest easy and just pops out again with the hammer and chisel

Put everything back together, but I remived the spring completely as Im sick if the car sitting so high and its now sat prety much at the height ab mx5 should be

IT just shows how much weight I have taken out of the car that the standard springs are to heavy? Stiff? What's the technical term for springs? Should help me get a ball park figure for what weight springs I will need at the front without having corner weights available to get it right lol
