Maybe hold off on rebuild til car is done and any issues sorted. I put a brand new rebuilt engine in westy..then ironed out all the issues...mainly oil starvation in corners...lol...wish id found the issues on old engine.

A bridge port isn't pointless, if that was so then a street port would be also pointless

Although. Mazda prety much went balls to the walls with the intake porting to not gain much in the way of gains, however the exhaust port can certainly gain from some improvement, well according to YouTube any way

Which in my eyes would suggest that there are performance gains to be had in the exhaust system.

As Jon says if your engine currently works/worked then get in the car and get it working, then you know there's nothing you have done in the engine for it to not work.

Lemme get a YouTube channel for you to watch, they do all sorts of cnc porting on all types of rotary plates

Also lightening and balancing the rotating assembley is always a good thing however I'm prety sure my bridge port MSP got revved to 9500/10k and wasn't balanced I don't think

From what I've heard, because the exhaust is so restrictive there's not much to gain by making the intake so large if you can't get the exhaust gases out.

I've also spoke to people who have ran street port and Bridgeport and their view is the juice ain't worth the squeeze.

Racing beat USA don't do a template for a bridge only a street.

I'm not saying you're wrong grant, which is why I'm welcoming all suggestions etc.

If you notice some of these tuning companies, I'm not going to name names, they quote big numbers on their websites, don't actually show any dyno graphs to back up their claims.

Maybe convert the exhaust to peripheral port lol, the casting has a space for it, now...... where is my hole saw ....

Having had all 3 flavours of normal street and bridge...the bridge is defo the cream of the crop. Hit those high revs and the power came on with soft vtec like pull really felt it in the Westy.
If your up for id defo consider doing it or specalists will port for you allowing you to build it yourself.

That's what I felt with my bridge port, helps carry the power through to those higher rpms as the tertiary ports are opened by the sleeves.

As for dyno sheets for proof... Who's to say that a person hasn't dynod these engines but doesn't feel the need to show a piece of paper for proof?

9.9 out of 10 rotary builders don't share everything they know unfortunately as its all a bug secret.

One thing I get annoyed with all this porting crap is that a lot of people talk about flow but iv never seen anyone put a ported plate on a flow bench and compare different ports.... Because let's face it in the piston world cyclinder head flow is a big thing along with valve angles etc all measured in cfm.

Yes, in paper Renny wont do much power with BridgePort. However, engines behaves completely different. As dudes said, it behaves more agressively. Essex Rotarys Aston and Casey here have lost of info about BP on Renny

Rennys weak point is rotors. From factory, they are uneven balance. If you rebuild, you need to balance those. And usually that means finding suiting pair of rotors.

I have "destroyed" few Rennys to see how far you can port. And thats really because now one doesent share their info. Its not that difficult to port, but you need to be carefull. There is no room for agressive porting. Portind on Rennys is more smoothing than porting.

All those being said, power on Rennys comes from those secondary valves and their shape. This, I dont know nothing about how they do that

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Its all about intake runner length Jarno...read up on old skool velocity stacks. The 787b had a velocity stack that would change the intake length with engine rpm.
The renny is a sort of 3 position intake length system the ssv and vdi open and close at particular rpms for best performance due to intake air velocity.

Yes, exatly. However, I ment that I dont know how to port those secondary valves. Top end power comes from there
