Yeh, although I literally work all over the country I think Silverstone is about as far as kids will travel, unless I "work" a weekend day down south

What engine do you want to build.....

Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk

Dont worry Wayne, when you go full PP you wont need Cosmo plates as the ports get blocked off. ;)
All the best Clive

What rotors have you got for your 2nd engine? If you get them machined they will lower the compression anyway.

I'm just doing a bit of reading on the Web about lower compression and boost.

General concensus is that lower compression is better for higher boost albeit you have to run more boost to achieve the same hp

But my question is with more boost but the same peak hp number would you see more  torque

In Clives case he has to use regular fuel for racing? So at some point he will reach a threshold where you can't go much higher in boost, unlike me where methanol actually contains oxygen and you can run it pig rich and not see any detrimental effects.

At what boost level is petrol limiting boost? I have no idea

I must spend some time over the Christmas break reading up about these things so I can relate better

I've just got an engine with Cosmo plates built .
That's about all I know

Full PP setups are basically intake ports on the periphery of the rotor housings

The exhaust port is a peripheral port.

I'm thinking of my Third engine going to be a full pp setup but that will be a pipe dream for a while.

A pp turbo engine will make a lot more hp than what your aiming for at the moment

Mr Spiller

Think that will be out of my league
Just want a bit of extra power  and good  reliability

You just need a std rew with a pair of ht12s running sequential...and set of ap racing 6 pots up front and your good to go... my piddly twins have caught and taken on track several big power rx7 singles...its all in the right foot and loose nut behind the steering wheel.

I for one would have loved to see his westy out against Clive in early days
That would have been very interesting
