Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Here we go Grant, not much to look at for the money though   :)) :))

Quick measure up shows from the face of the box to the end of the spigot shaft means the new box is 3/4" longer, so the adaptor plate to take the RX-8 box will be that thick.
Fortunatly this works with the longer shaft, because I would have had problems if the shaft had been shorter  ???.

Short shifter is going to be needed as the gear leaver is going to be nearer that dash,

This video shows the mountain I need to climb , here's Jim Janicki's Skyline being wrestled around Brands.

Upon analysing the race I was running 1.6 seconds per lap slower, but nowhere near as spectacular, god knows how he made his rear tyres live the length of the race!

First Thunder Saloon race is March 27/28 Silverstone International / Just commited and reistered rather than running as a guest.
Still going to have a go at Track Attack and their first race is the week before at the same track,

Mr Spiller

That's a bit of Handful
Love how he's bobbing up and down whilst trying to control the car .
I know that not your style Clive ,
If you were driving in that manner do you think you could squeeze a bit more time out or would you be slower ?

Its only on full throttle for what 30% of lap? Its Brutal!. Prob more power than the 90s chassis can handle. Clives smooth like Casey...but i suspect Christine is just as much a brute .

The way his car moves around reminds me of how my kart reacts when I go karting bouncing, rear end breaking loose, ramming people

When I started racing there were no tips on how to drive a race car, but one that stuck with me as a kid, was standing at the bottom of Paddock and thinking how slow James Hunt was going in his M23. All the others were banzaiing, four wheel drift, back out, opposite lock etc.

To my amazment, James stuck it on pole! this taught me that the fastest way is always to have all the wheels pointing as straight as possible and to be as smooth as possible.

Quite simply, if a cars sliding sideways, it ain't going forward and your tyres are not gripping properly!

Someone also said once, you should use the throttle like there's an egg between your foot and the pedal, which is a good deffinition

The RX-8 has more than enough power to showboat and look spectacular but I know 100% it would be slower.

People have said before the RX-8 just looks slow from the outside, then they see from the inside how hard it's being to keep it in check with the steering wheel being constantly "adjusted" !

That should answer your question about the Skyline, best not ask for the long version to the same question  :)) :)) :)) :)).

That sounds how cars with all these electrical system have in place to get cars around tracks these days.

Torque management as they call it, sensors everywhere on the car so that the driver can basically mash the pedals and the ecu calculates everything and selects the gears, throttle position, boost etc.

Basically you are the T800 terminator and all these new fandangled cars are the Rev9 terminator lol

That was one of my best experiences

IT was around my birthday too, I just remember having the biggest grin on my face and my cheek bones hurt after from smiling

Iv never been in a car with someone driving that fast and absolutely under control, especially as it was wet!
