Funny thing, turbo and header that I have now, purchased it from a friend, they tested different compinations.

They found out that in this setup divided with T3 worked best. Turbo spools up fast and power delivery is smooth.

What size turbo did they use and what porting did the engine have?

This is 60/68 1,06 Ar. Mild bridge and EP4 based D shape exhaust port

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Based off my Internet knowledge I'd say that it's loosing out on some top end and it's got more back pressure which if I remember correctly should increase low end torque.

There was a thread years ago on rx7 club discussing all this stuff.

However, if it works it works it would be interesting to see the difference in EGTs of a T3 versus a T4

I'm going to end up with prety much the same turbo that James ran on his 8 second rx7, and that ran a T6 1.32 rea housing on a s480 turbo and he said he didn't really see the car struggle to spool the turbo even with it being so huge back housing

Well, I dont know anything about turbos.

This is S300 based turbo. It made 530 horses at 1,6 bar boost.

And never had issues with back pressure.

However, this turbo is for street driven car, and its too small for your use

Your fast with 155!! God help me when you got 400!  Jonnies not coming out to play today
When doing the exhaust put some serious silencers in...big regret not putting the rx7 around Thruxton due to noise.

The IWG EFRs are known for not to be able to hold low boost levels without creeping. My 8374 wouldn't stay less than 0.9 bar. You'll be above 400bhp even at that level on an 8474.
