Had the Adrian bible book for a year, best open it sometime soon then  ;)
If we're on about his auto biography It's a good read, took it on holiday earlier this year and blitzed it in 3 days.

He's quite a character, I think I'd like him if I ever met him in person.

He told an hilarious story about Nigel mansel when there was strong rivalry with team mates. I think it was Jean alesi, and as a team they should share data, Nigel used to come back into the pits and turn all his suspension settings from the cockpit all over the place knowing that jean alesi's team would copy the settings lol.

Adrian even swapped the whole stock of suspension springs in the garage for ones that wouldn't work so the other team used them.

He's not up himself like that Louis Hammersmith driver fella

Clive...... do you remember walking to the museum at beaulieu the other year with me n the father in law, we came across that car on the field with vortex generators that were "Velcro'ed" to the front bumper??

Well I think I've topped it off with cardboard n gaffer tape lol

Should add at least 2000lbs on the front end before the tape gives way.

Just pray it doesnt rain

However I have the professional heavy duty version with additional set square, g clamp and steel rule.

Colin chapman would not be impressed with the additional weight

So.......... been beating myself up a lot psychologically recently ....

I had set myself a dead line of 3 years for this project and this Christmas will be 3 years since I started tearing down the original Lotus.

Clearly I'm not going to get this finished on time, but during my insomnia time I've been going over stuff thinking, what the f*** have you been playing at????? so I've put myself a bit of a list to try and help me come to terms as to why I failed my deadline.

You all know by now how boring the process of fibre glassing is ..... pattern, mould, product, so yeah everything is done 3 times....

So besides designing the chassis on CAD, building it, making a roll cage, fabricating the headers and full exhaust system, custom fuel tank, adjustable pedal box mounting design, Ive managed to build the rest out of fibreglass

Don't beat yourself up about it, Jamie. You have made tremendous progress. It's the old thing of "how do you eat an elephant?" - a bite at a time and you'll get there eventually.

My progress, or lack of, with KIMI 1 is pathetic compared to what you have done in 3 years on Rotus, and I'm retired!

Just keep biting at it  ;)

jinx

Just dip into the small ads on various sites and count the number of stalled kit car projects for sale...and they came with a build manual as well as off the shelf solutions.   Slow progress is not calculated in weeks, months or years.  The correct benchmark is decades. How do I know this? Don't ask. I'd be too embarrassed to tell you....but it's still here and no closer to being finished than it was thirty, make that forty, years ago.

It might be genetic. My 'next generation' has a project now easing into its second decade. Given I recently opened a drawer here and found a leaflet on woodworm treatment that was issued by the Department of Works in 1956, we either have a pathological aversion to throwing stuff away and/or enjoy taunting ourselves with our own incapacity to finish s***.  (In some cases the woodworm do that for us.)  I'm not sure either of those is healthier than the other.

By comparison your progress is positively meteoric and as you know, your work rate usually leaves me breathless, so I've been quite glad of the recent respite without ever suspecting you might be a fellow sufferer/celebrant of the art of never reaching the end of any journey.  Keep calm and carry on?   :D
