Hi all,

At present im having a single turbo GT35/40 fitted and ive been asked by the tuner if i want the external wastegate fitted to atmosphere or plumbed into the exhaust.

So my Q is this, should i get it plumbed to atmoshere or not?

Is it really that loud??

Do you really get flames out of the wastegate?

Come on whos atmoshere and whos not?

Scott.

SCOOMER

Thanx veilside, going to have it plumbed back in to the exhaust.

Scott, you will want this fed back into the exhaust system. Otherwise you will be deaf and minus anywhere to live....

Yes you will get good flames from the wastegate. I remember Brian Ellis setting light to the floor of CPL. :D

I think the noise is horrid, u cant hear the engine properly over it which I personally hate.

It gets really annoying after a while IMO. Each to their own tho...

Personally i love it, sounds very evil. I have an RE Back box on the camo, which is fairly quiet, but then when you come on boost it sounds like an F1 car.
Track days would be out though, unless the have no sound limits.

you loos a bit of power when it is plumed in keep it external, beside it will onley open when you hit full boost.

SCOOMER

Could you explain why you would lose power plumbing it back into the exhaust.

I think it to do with back pressure.
