Q?

What gives the stock RX8 speedo the info for the speed to be displayed?

Do i need to keep the wheel sensors or does it come from the gearbox?

via abs to pcm  by canbus, pcm to dash via can bus.  if my memory right

youll have revs etc but no odometer Peaky Blinder!

hmmmm, not running abs..... this sounds complicated now ......

I think the old wheel sensors got trashed getting them out of rusty holes.

Looks like im purchasing more if I want the stock speedo to work.

Junk it and run a nice race digi dash...gps speed. oil water temps and pressure properly monitored cheaper than after market gauges once you buy them all.....
or im sure theres some clever electronic whizz that cold get odo display to work with a raspberry PI or summit.

Clive runs the 8 dash im sure the odo just stays or zero.

Top Gun style or CX-3 which doesn't sound quite the same  . Mind you I can never see it anyway as Lisa has it set too low for me

I really wanted to maintain the original speedo, but with the clocks in the centre of the dash I guess it would actually be dangerous to look across and take my eyes off the road hahahaha

GPS Speedo would fit in the cluster if you wanted it
My mate just used one in his V8 MK 1 MX5
Sits in there lovely and works a treat

Have a read into rx8 LS conversions. People work wonders using a box of tricks and retaining the rx8 clocks
