Turbo questions...

So the mx5 had a chinese t25/28 turbo fitted with external wastegate...
1  why external...better control bigger less chance of over boost?
2. T4 T25 T28 inlet flange the same same?
3. Im trying to spec a decent turbo suited for 250bhp...so fast spool circa 12psi of boost...
For around a grand...gt2680rs Garrett is what im thinking...the borgwarner efr range are 1500 plus...
Stock rods give up at 270bhp...what would be considered safe margin? 250bhp?

Im hopefully getting the damaged turbo as was not with car on pick up...this is how it looked on car...

Jon -  it’s not just BHp with the rods . There’s also a safety net around torque they can take too .

240nm torque or summit...will be mapped at skuzzle or mtech.
Im putting a slightly smaller turbo on...it had gt2860 on putting a gt2560r on...been advised.
Boost from 2100 on a 1.6. And does not run out of puff at top end.

Well, I think you have to about gbox and diff too. Yearly Miatas those are quite week...

I reckon that 250 area is in safe zone...

Some dude here are running ++300 and tracks their Miatas. Some of them can take it, some wont. Tracking is more safe than drag is, so...

Anyhoo, i dont know that much about Miatas...

They had the one from Solent  rotary on local rolling road , he’s pretty good at getting big BHp from them .
Cat had forged rods
Some sort of racing bolts couple of other bits which weren’t overly expensive and they got over 400bhp
That was pushed to the limit

235bhp max i need.
Ill concentrate on handling and brakes...may have a dabble with this aero witchcraft too.
And a serious case of weight reduction...if it aint needed its going...brackets trim carpets seals hinges its all going...already started...
