Question for Vert owners:

Easiest way to get to rear suspension towers upper mounts? What needs to be removed? I dont want to remove any unnessesary parts so can some one give step by step instructions?

Cheers!

Im a lazy bastard...

Engine has coolant on it. But my custom neck leaks, so I have to do some welding...

Got idea for new filters position. I think I leave it there. But I have to cut some metal to get that silicone hose to better position...

I think I cannot leave that intake like that. 70mm tubing just wont flow enough so turbo wont get enough air...

Upper neck keeps leaking. Tryed to take it off, weld, put back on, maybe 7 times. Started to piss me off, so I cutted it and changed to tube

Turbos hoses are on. Actually all hoses are on and connected now

Made a heat shield to wastegate. Also, it should keep cool air on airfilters side

Again, tryed to figure out how to connect turbos tubes to cooler, and air filters position. There is no room...

At least the rubber hose made an easy fix. Jarno I know its a pain but you will get there.
Lots of people must think it all must have been easy to make all those mods.

Shows like Fast and Loud really dont help. O' look we built this car in a week, yeh right :violent1: !!

I know a guy who has a custom shop built a 4x4 hearse in a week for a BBC show. He worked all day with his team and then when they stopped for the day a BBC team worked through the night ! and that was only essentially to build a pile of junk!!

I used to take on modding cars and converted quite a few customer FD's into single Turbo's and the first RX-8 over here etc "but" as I was fussy and had to have things just right, I gave up realising I really could not make any money!

Jarno, as said, your getting there and it will all be worth it when you zap down the road at warp factor speed with a smile on your face  8)

All the best Clive

That is true sir.

Lots of different mods has been done, only using info and parts from FDs basically. FCs are odly different however. Theres no room, FDs has lots compared to this.

And it doesent help that noone here has done "big turbo" mod to FC before me. One FC has modded hybrid T2 turbo, and other has "medium" size Garrett. Mine is first with this size turbo.

One thing is that I didnt wanted to cut and mod this cars chassis. I wanted everything to be stock. That effects things like inter cooler position.

Building mods like this is usually try and error kind of stuff. Usually third evolution is starting to be good. Me however, Ill try and want to do the best I possible can in first try

Well, slowly trying to get her ready, even tho sometimes it really pisses me off. Once ready, this thing will be hand full

Keep at it, is does all fit in but I have to agree the FC is not an easy car to get a big turbo and all in there, I've done mine twice and the the second time was to sort out all the bits I wasn't happy with.

... after trying many times to get those silicone and alu tubes to fit, I got really pissed off. AndI have lots of then, couldnt get them to fit...

So, scrap that plan and DIY time. Looks like sh*t, but they fit.

Hey mate, sometimes theres just summit we cant do at home or just dont have the skills for and then we get some help....like tonight my workmate will be milling my manifold and downpipe and an other mate will be tigging it and my st/ st welding is dire.
Get some more alloy piping...pie cut it up so you have lots of pieces and straights and join with tape as you build it up so it all joins up nice then take to a welding fab shop.
