First of the front moulds,

smaller but more complicated, hence the 3 parts

Just picked up on this.

Is there much noticeable diff in performance between Street and Bridge porting?
With a  properly Bridged  Renesis the car will drive like a stock car till around 6800 then take off again like it has a small turbo fitted.

Is it worthy of different gearbox internals, I don't need a full on quaife set, but should I be installing a close ratio set with long first gear or are the standard ratios fine?
Maybe worth know that the 5 speed box will dump a lot of weight out of the car and without looking 1st is a longer gear. Next, although expensive  fitting a  4.7 dif ratio (R3 Ratio) will not only help the car but close the gears up, effectively making a closer ratio box.

Interesting from Jons thread a comment that says that the Adaptronic ECU "doesnt give more power"
May not give more power but with the ability to tune the car would have better mid range power which in turn will push the car up the road faster.

Is an RX8 steering rack available in quick rack maybe 2.2 or 2.4 turns lock to lock, then again I don't know what the standard is......
Lock to Lock Turns (Steering):2.99 / I converted my rack to a non power rack to dump weight and get more feel (driver feed back)

Electric water pump???

I have used one since the race car was built, great bit of kit plus you can leave it on for a while after a run to let everything cool nicely

For future reference, which model was the 5 speed fitted to?

I'm in agreement on the power steering rack, it does weigh a tonne and doubtful I'll need ps in a light car, I have a spare rack, so I could have a play.

It there any conversion kits or is is literally remove weight from the right places with tools?

RX-8 Low power version (192). You can find them from your scrappers really cheap
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Can't find any later R3 diffs,

I'm assuming, the 4.7 crown wheel/ring gear and pinion are interchangeable between housings? I'll try n get a complete diff, coz that will be cheaper initially

Those R3 are very wanted. I reckon you need time and luck to get one

Morning,

Yes the CWP's are fully interchangeable.
For the rack, I posted my conversion with pictures around a year ago in my race car thread.

You need to chop the magnets off and make an adaptor to stop the screw being able to operate, pop the tin cover off and all will became apparent.

Thanks Clive I’ll take a peek, stripping my spare rack will be a nice break from fibreglass

Clive / Jon

Can you give any advice on which standard flywheel, clutch pressure plate combo I need to be using with the 5 speed box, or whether there is any special components required?

Thanks

So .......

Not bad for a mornings work, complete front and rear end and calipers as spares.

Cousin needs the subframes back to make a jig, then he is gonna "bin them" in case anybody needs a subframe?

*coughJonRX8rearendwestfieldcough*

Im guessing the gear stick hole pokes through the car in the same place as the 6 speed, or am I making a bent knitting needle gear stick?

It dawned on me this morning, when I chat to Jon about mods to get the car ready he saves me money, when I chat to Clive, my wallet hurts. LOL!!

Its all good in the hood  :icon_thumleft:
