Jon, You have been around me long enough, never going to be happy with the car as its never going to be quick enough  :'(

Jarno made a correct observation :13:, I had wheel spin going on, which hampered me particularly off Clearways I had to ease the throttle on plus a little going up after Paddock.

The video ( my telemetry) showed that when the right rear was unloaded the tyre was spinning losing me traction and initial acceleration.

I didn't have time to build up the Kazz diff so I ran the low mileage RX-8  4.3 LSD which caused this issue, which I will have to put up with at Sliverstone.

Turns out I now need a different diff ratio again.

Where the car is accelerating faster because it spools earlier and holds boost now, I was running out of revs down Cooper straight so couldn't get the car into the left hander anywhere near as fast as I wanted. Between the LSD slipping and running out of revs that could have maybe been 1.5 seconds.

Tonight I dug out the good 4.1 CWP I've had for years out of one of my FD's and will build up the Kazz with the 4.1 for Castle Combe, this will let me stay on the throttle longer after Quarry into the chicane, leading hopefully to faster lap times.

Ode to self, must go faster, must go faster  >:D

Weather, what temperature it was?
Cause in warmer days, without safety car slowing you, those rear wheels will melt...

Hopefully you can sort out that traction problem. Not sure if new diff will help tho. How does rear suspension setup feel? Might need to stiffen "fast out" setup  :dontknow:

To me it looked like front tires didnt lose grip when they got warmer. And thats a good thing. I really love the looks how that car behaves. Smooth... And its getting bloody fast!  :sign0098:

Track temp was cold at 10 degrees and very dirty so I have seen much better grip at other events !

Getting the Kazz Diff back in the car will sort out the traction issues as the poor little RX-8 LSD obviously cant cope  ???.

p.s. front bite was OK

Oh, wau, it was really cold then. So, when temp gets to +20, those tires will grip and also melt under that power

Yeah, good thing that this diff didnt explode at launch. Yes, lets hope so. Good suspension setup can be a b**ch to find...

Car really turns in nicely, so no problems there

After Brands and that Philip worked out off the video that, with all the stop start before going out on track, the battery dropped to 10volts and fell over.

So we now have a few mods.
First a digital volt meter because looking at the needle from an angle was giving me a false view!
Next was that the custom alternator only charged fully at 2000 revs mainly due to the load from the two fuel pumps, so the tick-over is a whopping 2050 revs, now sounds fast fast like an F1 car, but it charges at 12.4 with everything turned on, rather than below 11 volts like it did, unless I blipped the throttle to keep charge going in.

Just in-case between myself and my mate Steve today we made the battery super fast to change if required, by fitting a quick release Anderson plug onto the main wires, plus I made a hook to release the rubber holding down strap. I would say 5 seconds to clip a spare battery on the car if I had to.

Yesterday when we where dynoing that 13B PP, at 9000rpm charging hitted 25v... Too much?

OK, all set for Silverstone on Sunday  :great:.

Kazz diffs back in the car along with a 4.1 diff to make the gears longer, so no more wheel spin because the Mazda LSD could not cope with a little more horsepower  ::)

Once on the ramp I found that 2 foot of the exhaust pipe had ground away while bottoming out at the bottom of paddock with the suspension under compression.

Because of the battery issue at Brands my mate Steve wired up an Anderson quick disconnect plug and I made up a battery mount, meaning in probably 4 or 5 seconds the spare batter can be clipped in.

A few people are coming along and below is the timetable for anyone wanting to follow the event on    https://www.tsl-timing.com/

All scrutineered up and ready to go,  rainx put on just in case and covered up with a water proof sheet after what we learned up here last year just in case we get the threatened rain appear .

Big field again with some new cars out including a fully race sorted Nissan 350Z in my class that's just had a big supercharger fitted to boost its power.

I think Jon will know the car from Combe, its a red and white one,
