Yes all from the same car. I need to trace wiring diagrams and check I haven't missed anything off the plugs in the foot well.
I've swapped all of those parts over, only thing I need to check is the visteon small black box and make sure its plugged in properly.

My only thought is I've removed the sas unit completely and it doesn't show on the can network. But surely that shouldn't stop it from starting.
Just to clarify mazda edit connects as does my obd Elm327 reader. But IDS doesn't.

On the larger black box theres load of 12v feeds and several earths too. Would only take 1 to be missing and no dice.
My westy has no abs no rx8 dash no sas no tc basically fusebox and pcm and runs so can discount all that...a code read would help.

P1260 is the error code I was getting. Anti theft - engine immobilised on obd reader.

On ids while it worked I got the errors in the attached pic, didn't try to start the engine at that point

Ah shoot, should of googled that code.
So frustrated I can't get ids to work again or that would of twigged sooner. Better start looking up wiring diagrams...

That's the coil wiring diagram. Need to trace some wires...
They go through plug x-09. That's the one I had trouble with...

Think I've had a light bulb moment... IDS couldn't connect to the EPS module, and also the antenna coil. Think I'm missing the feed out of the ignition relay. Back tomorrow so will start having a look at things

Sounds very plausible...fingers crossed. I know from cutting mine and Clives loom down the feeds and earths go up n down the loom and several crimp joins for earths and power once you start picking them apart..plus like you say several big block connectors...
