Get a cheap Tims gauge...and tee into wastegate line...no need to plumb through bulkhead run line up outta bonnet and in through drivers window...(wrong side btw)...and see what it says.

Do you meen in that pic,  green line between wastegate actuator valve and duty solenoid valve?

Yes mate see what the wastegate is getting..

Well, wastegate tubing looked so difficult and confusing. Mine seemed different than in that pic... One tube goes to weird black triangle shaped plastic box. I have no idea what that is...

So, I connected boost gauge tube to tubes in dump valve. Now I have 3 of 4 gauges installed. Although only boost gauge works at this point. Run out off time today. Tomorrow I reckon that I will  get AFR gauge installed. And water temp connected. Oil temp Ill have to figure out later...

Anyhoo, new gauge says that max boost is 0,4bar... Shit...

Ok place to put it just nice to be as close to wastegate as possible as that is what is controlling boost..is the wastegate adjustable? Wind rod in so defo closed....?
I no nuffin about fc...

I tryed to figure out those tubings maybe an hour. Damn it looked confusing...  :(

I think that its not adjustable... There is so little room in that turbo area, that it is really difficult to even see anything.

Our T2 specialist told me that if I remove that tube that goes from duty solenoid valve to wastegate, and boost doesent rice, turbo is gone. So I have to check that today. Only problem is to find that tube  :))

Seems like you know more about FCs than me!  :13: I dont know nothing about turbo cars...

However..if you remove wastegate line and turbo is fine then exponential boost and bye bye engine...plumbing up without duty solenoid would operate on spring presdue only but you not reaching that...so removing wastegate line is not something i would recommend atall..
Its either leak or wastegate slightly open....the fact you have 4psi shows the turbo is spooling...if it were dead youd have smoke and or bad noise if it was impacting housing...
Youve checked for leaks so gotta look at the wastegate..if the rod comes off the actuator you could check the movement of the wastegate...
It could still be limp mode too...nothing todo with turbo get that bulb replaced.

Jarno you need to remove the outlet pipes and ic and check carefully for splits or weak joints...that would leak air pressure...remove and check and refit all in red...

Is there a blow off vavle in this line again check this and the small line going to it..bov could be leaking.

My thoughts excatly. Thats why I went really condused. Howerer,  this guy knows FCs...

I really doubt that turbo is gone too. It sounds good and spools nicely.

Really hard to get to the wastegate. No friends of mine have their car lifts free at the moment...

Yep,  my plan is to check those bulbs today

Yep, few days ago all of those were off. And I did double check them, didnt find anything... You know, weird thing is that for an old car, hoses, tubes and stuff are actually in very good condition

clive

Jarno,
Just had a look back through the thread and I see that you are making some boost (around 4psi) so this would indicate its not a small split pipe etc .
Can I ask what happened with the actuator rod, was it stuck and if so when freed off did it make a difference.

Also if you have been looking at the workshop manual, did you find what psi it should be boosting at ?

If you really cant find anything I would suspect the wastegate is not sealing and because of that it will not build boost
All the best Clive

re japi

Yes true, new boost gauge says that about 0,4 bar is max at the moment. I think that 0,6bar is max on stock car.
However I found this:
8.3psi for S5. Neither will hold this all the way to redline though. Both turbos have the same wastegate actuator but the S5 used electronic boost control for faster and higher boost.

For some reason, I cant get to some workshop manuals. I think my computer has some wrong setups. :D

I havent got possibility to check wastegate properly yet...  :(

I read some conflicting info on a boost.
But 6.5psi spring and boost setting in ecu via solenoid is 8 psi. That seemed to be the most talked about numbers on rx7club.

Howerer,  when you look at that stock boost gauge max is about 0,6bar, or that is what I have been told...
