One more development with hidden benefits as you will be able to monitor tyre wear as you drive the circuit.  :)) :))

You obviously need to become my development engineer adviser Ray, as I didn't think of that one,  :57:

I -------- have a low tech solution Jon,
Rather than payout I have four of these below sitting on the shelf to fit on the quick.

I have some aero catches but these are fiddly to fit so they can come later

Today's mission is to fit the wing and the boot lid.

With the increased speed Clive can now carry this wing is likely to take the rear end off the car.  :))
Sadly no longer with us, RIP Ray, 9 Feb 2021

Science and physics aside...what we looking at 80kg plus downforce...so can you stand on it in the middle? If it can take that then will be fine me thinks..

Looks good, but are you sure those uprights are strong enough? They look pretty thin in the pic! But I'm certainly no expert  ;) :P

re japi

I like it.  :sign0098: But it really looks massive  :13:
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Jarno I'll post some better pictures when its out from under my dark lair out at Brands tomorrow.

The middle wing plane is the same as last time , the side plates just make it look bigger ;)

Malcolm, you can give it a wiggle when you see it tomorrow  ;), seriusly the end plates are made from good quality 3mm thick alloy and the double bends add strength. It's actually a lot sturdier than the old wing mounts.

re japi

Dark lair produces Christines ;)

Anyhoo, I really like. Sides did look abit wobly but as you said, if those are so thick I quess they will handle that downforce :)

Off to Silverstone for Sundays race.

Few changes for this one,

After seeing the picture at Brands with the rear wheel almost off the ground, I have   fitted stiffer front springs (see pic below) then rather than fitting stiffer springs and spoiling the rear grip under acceleration I have fitted an extra roll bar at the back.

If this works it will help turn in on tighter corners, but if it junk in qualifying , I can quickly disconnect the second bar, we shall see  ;).

Next up is stiffening ties to the rear wing  and reduced the angle of the blade to 10 degrees  which should help straight line speed and hopefully with the suspension shielding to give clean air to the rear diffusers  I wont loose to much downforce.

Concerned about the current heat wave fans now have a totally separate loom away from the ECU with slow and fast switches on the dash, plus had the nose off to improve radiator ducting.

Dont forget if your interested you can follow Sundays qualifying and the races on https://www.tsl-timing.com/ and I suspect this time the live timing will have the tracks commentary
