Yep, thats a nice pic from Jon...

Well, only Honda engine that can go to +300 range is F20C from S2000. K20's cant go that high. K20's head max out in about 300. In rallycross we have few F20C engines that can go almost up to 330, which is a massive amount from 2-2,2 litre...

Still, that engine in that Honda is really expensive

Well, more testing and figure out that balance. I reckon its getting really close allready...

Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Jarno google honda k24...its not an engine honda made a k20 head on a 2.4 block or summit like that..high compression na with aggressive vtec..summit like that.

K24 cant rev really high. Less than K20 anyways. And then there is that head, it just cant flow more... There are really good engines. But F20 costs alot and K20 just cant produce enough power, if there is need to get +300

Thanks John.

I have setup a youtube channel for Clive so we can have his videos all in one place. I am off to bed soon but you should see Race 2 appear once its finished uploading. I have kept the quality high so there is an 8gb video currently uploading lol.

Nice to see that rear wing move, alot actually. Shows that is working I reckon  :great:

Yes the rear wing does move about too much!.

One of the upcoming mods is to fit the different wing mounts that we have started to make, but ran out of time with the other changes made to the car after Brands.

The new mounts will come off the body rather than the boot lid and this lets me make a one skin fibre boot lid, so we loose another chunk of weight.

My bigger problem is to suss out the lift off (snap) over steer that's caused the car to spin on more than one occasion in chicanes and slower corners.

As a result of my friend Philips hard work, I now have a personal video channel.

This shows Race 2 I chucked away due to my brakes on the last lap!

Philip was right, while he was editing he realised my diff was giving up, so it looks like I was actually lucky to finish.

I watched the spins in you tube slow mo last night a few times trying to suss out whats going on...and it looks like grip braking from rear on the turn in to chicanes and momemtum swinging the car round...do you think the diff is locking a wheel or semi open? Real hard to call...it like your still braking hard whilst turning the steering wheel and the back is braking free which i know you wouldnt be doing...i was going to suggest something locking up on rear...but wanted to review vids again. I was also attempting to view your gauges...checking reading but cant remember which 1 is your oil? Left of dash binacle or 2nd left of dash binacle?

Hopefully I have the answer to my slow corner "issues"

Spent a long while on the phone with my old mate Mark Catchpole who owns TDI over at Lakeside, who already knew a lot about chassis dynamics but has just spent a week at a chassis seminar gaining even more knowledge .

We have now both come to the conclusion that after being hard on the power the diff is not letting go and staying locked which is why the back snaps round how it does.

Next week I will buy myself a new Kazz diff which I will then strip to swap the plates to soften the way it bites. (something I have always done with plate diffs)

After that it will  be off to TDI to redo the geometry, checking the front but we both agree that a bit of toe in at the rear will also help the car in slow speed corners without inducing under-steer.

While I am there he is going to weigh the car out of interest as well as that has always puzzled me.

Jon the oil gauge is the one nearest the dash binnacle

I feel a guess the weight competition is mandatory....

Ok, thats interesting... I did wonder that too, but I thought that IRS rear wont usually do that effect. Usually 3 and 4 link system with "hard/agressive setup" does that effect, that causes rear to snap off. Also it causes lots of understeer too, because diff is not letting go acceleration momentum... But now when you say it, it sounds logical. IRS system with welded diff lock does that too. So it might really be that your diff is too hard...

Im very interested about that weight too. Can you see corner weights also?

Ill say 1175kg... :)

Casey

Are we talking empty fuel tank, and/or with Clive sitting in the car?

Just so I know how to pitch my bet  ;)

I'll go 1125 with near empty fuel tank (and Clive absent) :)
