Couple of changes for next week.

I have fitted under-trays to the rear wishbones in an effort  to clean up the air flow to the rear diffuser to try and find more downforce.

This now means that with the shape of the RX-8 floor and the deep front splitter the air should now have a clean passage out and under the whole floor pan.

Also I have changed the RX-8 front Roll Bar for an MX-5 NC bar which being softer, should take away some of the understeer and hopefully make the car turn faster through slow corners and chicanes. (still going to take the stiffer RX-8 bar in-case it does not work)

I also have a lot more heat shielding going on to take heat out of the footwell plus keeping the gearbox and diff cooler, using a mixture or Zircotech and Lakeland oven film.

I’m really impressed that roll bar is a straight swap! Are the rx8 and mx5 the same width then?

The RX-8 bar and the MX-5 2005-2015 roll bars are completely interchangeable

For the MX-5, I offer the RX-8 Bars for race and the softer bar for road.

Pre Brands, I ran softer front springs which helped turn in a bit which is why I will now try a softer front roll bar.

Must admit I was surprised  looking at the TV just how softly sprung some of the BTCC cars were, but I suspect this was more to do with maximising aero to make the front splitter lower that allowed when static

I was too, when the BTCC cars were warming the tyres and brakes the cars weren’t half rolling around. The track temperature was very low and the soft tyres they were using were not even going off during the race so possible that that made the cars softer to get more heat into the tyres?
