Can i please ask a few questions about water injection?

Thinking of getting a system on the FD.

wanting abitmore power outta the fd...Its been mapped by Carl and boost was 15psi creeping to 16psi...i only wanted 14psi and Carl suggested an orifice plate in the downpipe to midpipe join to create some back pressure and i done this and it works ive lowered boost to 13.5 psi.

Could just take this orifice plate out and have abit more power back...seems like a good chunk of power too, but was concerned with melting wastegate area and temps, the tune by Carl is a safe tune but obviuosly its maxed out for the twins....so adding water injection and removal of orifice plate im not gonna need another tune am i?...Ill lower EGTs and get that small chunk of power back?
Any wisdom greatly appreciated. :13:

Are you wanting to just run straight water?

There’s plenty of stuff around and fairly simple if your using a pump based one rather than say a system that uses the turbo boost too pressurise a tank like the system I have got in my shed

I’m not certain of this but if the IAT is lower due too the water injection will the ecu not correct that with more fuel?? Been a long long time since I talked about this stuff and apexi ecus. Lol

I dont mate . Methanol is cheap enough on ebay...more interested in the knock protection of atomised water n lower egts...like to run on track as Carl mapped without worry about melting wastegate...i think Neil ran 16psi with water injection..maybe more...i only know what ive read online.

Best place I learned stuff on was the aqua mist forum. With you still having twins your not going to go pre turbo are you as the wouldn’t be ideal.

Not sure if you want to go pre or post intercooler?

Post is the most safe so there no risk of water pooling in the IC, however o don’t think you would get that anyway especially if you have a good quality IC and also purchase I good WI system.

I would say an aqua mist kit would be ideal. You should be able to get in touch with someone on the forum and get advice as too what kit you want and correct for your meeds
