My wife had a 2T Arctic Cat the model name escapes me but that was an absolute animal, faster and lighter than my 800cc but the range was pretty poor (sound familiar?)

 Though that I should keep this topic alive. Unfortunately,  there is nothing to say. No progress at all...

  I started to plan 2018 trip. And yes, I think it going to be to UK... I really wanted to attend Goodwood FOS and/or 7.7.2018 if that is going to happen. Howerer,  I think its impossible for me to get my vacation at July...

Then I started to think that last year I missed Rallycross 50years event at Lydden Hill, cause we desided to come to Netherlands. So abit Googleing and contacted Retro Rallycross series croup at Facebook. They answered me almost immidiately that there is two Retro Cross events at Lydden this year. 2nd April and 27th August...

So that really suits my plan to go around South-East England and see some castles and stuff. Lydden Hill has always been my need to go place, same Brands Hatch is too. Only thing I need anymore is that there would be rotary event too

Jarno, acouple of dates to ponder over:

Tunerfest Brands Hatch, Sunday 24 June? The RX-8 OC will have a stand and a large presence, plus club exclusive track sessions too. Clive took his race car out on track there last year. The day usually hosts a "Time Attack" round too, in which PeteH plans to compete in his Eurospec RX-8, with which he was very successful in 2017.

Here's a link to the RX-8 OC topic to give you some idea of the event in 2017. I've not been able to get to the event since the club started going 2 years ago, but it's in my diary for 2018

Another event to think about is this one on 25/26 August. It's a static event held at Dunsfold, the "Top Gear" track. You might be able to tie this in with Lydden?

It's a static event, but the RX-8 OC will have a stand for there for both days (camping options have been mentioned). I wen there about 3 years ago and it's a HUGE show with loads of interesting stuff for all the family.

Not sure if I'll get to the latter event though, as it's Gwyn's birthday on 25th Aug, but maybe try to arrange a long weekend in the area and combine it.....

Both events are in the South East with loads of castles to visit. Dover Castle is well worth a visit as is Bodiam Castle (pic below). Gwyn and I went to both in 2016, basing ourselves in Rye on the coast for a week, a beautiful town with old cobbled streets (also pictured).

Yes, I have been researching and studying that area for a few years now. With those that you linked, also Hastings,  Rochester, Canterbury just to mention few. There really is lots of things to see and to visit!

At this point I'm leaning towards august, but not sure yet.

Check out Heaver Castle / Anne Boleyn's house, Queen of Henry the eighth till see lost her head.

The long room at the back is weird as it is the same as when she lived there and at the end of the room is a painting from the period.
When you look back down the room its spooky to see that except for the dog, you are seeing exactly what is in the painting.

Wings and Wheels, we did this as a club a couple of times, perhaps we will go this year, good day out

So, after 3 hours, this is the list so far. I fear that week is not enough... Damn, i really need to move to UK...
