I have found a restaurant within walking distance of the hotel Yacht Club Harbor Lelystad :occasion14:

If anyone thinks it is worth booking a table for Saturday/Sunday please let me know and I will email them and book a table.  I have also emailed the hotel for any other resturants in the area.

Certainly conveniently positioned for our hotel, plus Trip Advisor reviews seem mostly positive. Should be a good view over the harbour too  :icon_thumleft:

Sounds a good plan to eat there at least one night (if not more); Gwyn and I would certainly be happy to eat there.

What time are we expecting to arrive at the hotel on the Friday? I reckon it's about a 4 hour drive from the port, so if we didn't stop we'd arrive around 6pm? Allowing for a stop (or two) I'm guessing we'd arrive by 7pm (assuming we hit some rush-hour traffic somewhere along the route) so is this a good place to eat on the Friday night about 8pm?

I just "Googled" the route options from Calais. For those that have done this before, what is the best route?

We have always gone via whatever way the sat nav has taken us, although there is nearly 30 miles difference.  Hopefully we will go the more direct route  :)

Yacht club booked for 7.00pm for Saturday evening at 7.00pm  for 15 people.

As people are doing different things on Sunday have not book anything.

Malcolm,

We need to call the hotel when we cross the border into Holland as they have asked for a heads up as to when we might arrive.

^^ Excellent, I've found a good stopping point about halfway into our journey with a Hypermarket, food outlets and Shell V-Power, right on our route  :)

That would be a good time to phone the hotel as we should be about 2 hours away  :great:
