Sat, 10 June: Japanese Car Day at Castle Combe

Good News

Ian.Mothersole and I spent a few hours today stuffing envelopes (77 of them!) with everyone's vehicle passes, including a basic brief about the day. These were posted out 1st class today, so look out for a "DL" sized white envelope arriving shortly (clue - RX-8 OC return address on the reverse  )

For those going on track, Ian and I have also assembled all the personalised "Track Packs" (38 of them) which contain the Track Pass(es) you have purchased, track session mirror "hangers" and a 5 page Track Briefing which should answer many questions. These packs will be available to collect from the RX-8 Club Marquee from 8.30am on the day.

I'll post up an electronic copy of the Track Briefing pack in this topic by the weekend, although Clive, Jon and Jim will be very familiar with the way the track sessions work by now (I hope  )

Spoke to Pete (Conan) on RX8OC and all ok im bringing my car on Trailer and parking in trailer park which is further on down are spot behind tower...which means i can bring plenty of tools and consumables so if any 1 wants for summit on the day just look for the incedibly handsome chap next to the rough looking red fd...lol...
ill have scanner,multimeter, crimps etc trolley jacks, axle stands, socket set, oil, fluids, nuts n bolts jubiless all sorts of consumables, big cantilever toolbox full of usual handtools breaker bar, air pump etc etc...and a gert big hammer.
and track day essentials....gaffer tape and cable ties.....

dont forget those going on track tape for those pesky pieces of paper they want you to stick in your windows.....ill be using A4 clear sheets already stuck in just slip the paper in....

Brilliant Jon , with 38 cars taking to the track, there's bound to be some need for tools/spares. I'll pack a basic tool set and a jack, so that can be readily available in the stand area. Gaffer tape and cable ties are always in my pack too

That was how Japfest used to do it; JapDay last year was different, everyone handed in a pass in the assembly area, nothing pesky to stick to windows, if I remember correctly? I didn't go on track last year, but have loads of pics and none show the passes in windows

Please confirm receipt their JDM "red" mirror hanger, which is your entry "ticket" to Combe on Saturday.

Ignore the actual Stand Numbers on the hanger, the parking marshals on the day (probably me and one/two others  ) will direct you to the MRC Stand area (PLEASE advise the marshals you are on the MRC stand, although we'll probably be aware 

The rest of this post only applies to those going out on track:

I forgot to post up the TRACK BRIEFING document, so it is now attached here for those going out on track. Please read it, as it explains the procedure for "signing on", which is a little different to normal trackdays. The rest of the stuff should be familiar (I hope  )

TRACK SESSION NOISE LEVEL: Combe is VERY strict on their static 100dBA limit (at 3/4 max revs), which is lower than the usual 105dBA trackday limit. Please check compliance BEFORE you get to Combe!Fail the test and you will NOT be permitted on track 

Your track passes, including a hard copy of the briefing I've posted up here, will be available to pick up from the RX-8 OC Marquee from 8.30am on Staurday.
