Ah cheers mate hadn't even considered that and that would turn a pig of a job into a proper b@st@rd of a job lol, while we are on the subject of fuel what's a good option for upgrading the fuel pump? As I guess that's a worth while mod? Or is the standard one more than capable of running stock twins with higher boost?

Been doing few jobs for others so coffers are recovering....

Yeah my 7 has an oil leak from the back but top of the engine somewhere I think, so i was thinking about overhauling the Rats nest during the winter months and while I am on see if I can find the source of the oil leak lol

So I am bored and thinking of whats next to do with the car so I thought I am running a decat, and have been looking online and it seems that I don't need an air pump so as I don't require one anymore I have a couple of questions on what I should do?

Do I remove the Air pump completely or can I blank off the pipe work or will this cause issues? and if I did remove it do I just need to buy a smaller belt ( I have read this is not the best option as the water pump pulley does not get the contact required and also puts stress on the shaft bearings?) or do I need to buy an idler pulley? if so how does one of these fit/mount as I have found them fairly cheap on the web but they seem to just be the pulley, yet looking at the pineapple racing kit looks to come with a mounting bracket etc.

Just a little confused so any help/advice would be great also while I am on is there anything else that could be removed or blanked off.

Cheers people

I bought an Idler pully from dm motorsport to allow the use of the original belt. Also for your fuel pump any of the upgraded ones are fine Walbro etc, I went for a bosch 044 personally, just remember you will need a map after or you will run extremely rich. I would group some parts together and get the map done with all parts fitted.

Cheers Neil, do I have to modify the hanger for the pump or is it direct replacement?

Cheers John, so you are using an underdrive water pump pulley, is that ribbed it looks it? And have you ever noticed it slip under stress or do you get higher temps at low revs? and to ensure the contact on the water pump pulley is the belt overly tight? Sorry for all the questions it's just there the problems a number of people have reported when not using the air pump idler pulley.
