13b engines

Hi everyone!
Hoping someone can help me i have been talking to carl (who has been a massive help), however his PM box is full so looking for some advice.  I\'m going to look at a bare block 13b engine tomorrow that has been sat in someones garage for the last 2 years.  Unfortunately my mechanical knowledge is quite lmited and carl has told me there are a few types of 13b engines.
I\'m hoping it will be replacing the one for my fd3s, so my question is .... (sorry big build up) How/If can i tell the if it\'s the one i\'m looking for?

I may be wrong but I am pretty sure that the 13b REW (which is the FD3S engine) has 13b REW on the top of the block like the 13b RE which is found in the FC3S has, you guessed in 13b RE on it!

and if its a 13b RE ( FC Type ) - it could be and NA or a Turbo

can you PM with with what it is if you dont want it - always fancied a spare engine to play with
