hi fellas just bought a black o4 plate rx8 230bhp 2.6 not old school that I like but had to take mate up on his offer and shes not got hot or cold start problems ? yet ha ha I get some pics up soon tell me what you think I miss my old 1971 mazda 1800 delux that what I learned to drive in back in the day then rx3/4 mazda 1000 ohhhh to be young again hope you all had good crimmbo and have good new year all best kev up in Geordie land

Looks real nice, good to see you have a Rotary back under you.

Seeing as it starts OK hot, to keep it healthy have a look at the ignition coils to see if the have been changed as these are the biggest cause of issues on RX-8's

going get cracking after new year got them on order mate at moto factors not sure if to put fullycynthetic 5/30 oil in as just bought 80 liters of it yes 80liters at a bargan price lol I get more pics up soon kev

Oils a bit like religion or politics on a rotary forum lol.
Everybody has deferent opinions...most of the rebuilders state 10w 40 semi mate.
Thens theres the premix debate!

I have to say that with RX-8 usually is daily driver and usually lacks maintanence, pre mix would be good idea...
I have seen a LOT those housings with scratch marks. :/ But wont say anything about oil

Just sold1 with 113k miles on...no rebuild. With some tlc they can go on and on....coils are life blood....

You wont do it again though....if you really have to shut off cold and then not return for sometime hold revs at 4k and turn off. Ideally allow to warm...neddle just moving.
