Can I flash ECU codes if there are any?

I have a vauxhall calibra and on those you can short 2 diagnostic pins to \'flash\' the ECU codes up to show what errors exist. Is it possible to do this on an FD? The rx7 city webside seems to suggest you can (//www.rx7city.com/ecucodes.htm), but mentions something about a MIL. So, is all of this possible!!?
