I started to think about differences between different models:

I have only driven FB on snow, tarmac and gravel so I dont have much to compare to. I really liked FB´s handling, even though it is a old car. Nose turns in nicely even in slippery conditions. Back wont snap off when sliding, compared to something like Ford Sierra(which is crap)

One dude here has rally RX8 and he says that its actually very good car on gravel.

How about Miata compared to RX8?

FD or FC, how they are on gravel or snow?

Or how about older models?

Please, share your thoughts on different models, I`m very curious! ;)

Also here is a poll, what model do you like(overall handling compared to cars age against other manufacturers)

Seriously best handling car I have ever driven is the rx8. With a few minor mods they can out handle most cars on track. Best combo I found was eibach lowering springs and racing beat antiroll bars. Stock discs and uprated pads.

Gotta say only driven fd, mx5 mk1, and rx8 s1 standard from that list and the wifes R3 on eibach springs is night and day the best handling car ive driven. back to back driving s1 8 to r3 so much better. All great handling cars but the the fd is a brute compared to the others so its job is harder putting the power down as well as getting round the twistys.
But r3 gets my vote  but not on your list Japi! lol

RX-8 S1 & RX-8 S2 (R3) should be different options... They have different suspension geometry and stiffening, as standard :)
RX-8 R3, Diamond Grey = :D BIGGER smiles :D

Yes the RX-8 will out handle other RX\'s in stock trim, but then to be fair it should is an evolution of previous RX models, plus it has electronics to assist it and any one who has seriously driven an RX-8 on track will know these cars can carry tremendous corner speed.

Going in the reverse, having driven all the RX-7 / 8 models, drive an RX-8 and you can feel the FD in it , then drive a Gen 2 and you can still feel the Gen 1 in it, all these cars have very good handling but as I say you can feel the evolution through the RX range, but then that\'s how it should be surely, i.e. Mazda getting better and better over the years at something they are very good at /  making cars go around corners :Thumbsup!
All the best Clive
