I have a 1.3 twin turbo and when I drive it the clutch makes noise Also insurance companies are quoting me on a 2.6 not a 1.3, is this the norm?

samoht

Yes, it\'s normal for insurance companies to have it listed as a 2.6.

It was officially classed as a 2.6 when they were sold here, however since in Japan the registration documents state 1.3, it is sometimes possible to register private imports as 1.3.  This is good for reduced annual road tax, but makes no difference to insurance.  There is only one engine in FDs.

With the clutch, is it a continuous noise while driving, when accelerating, or when letting the clutch in?  Also what sort of noise is it?

samoht is 100% right on this one, in years gone by I have challenged insurance company\'s to explain in an effort to get reduced insurance for our club members and have always been met with the fact that these are high performance cars.

Can\'t argue with that one :flamed

"apparently" the FIA is responsible for the doubling up thing after everyone got miffed about the powerful 1152cc (12A) engined cars entering races in lower classes but beating 3 & 3.5 litre cars for overall wins :Giggle

As for the clutch if it rattles when the clutch pedal is pressed down this is normal on almost all twin plate clutches, if not as above, we all need more info to try and help
All the best Clive

Thanks for the advice, the clutch is a hks one, the guy I bought it off gave me the company that imported it\'s number in York and apparently when it was imported it sounded exactly the same rattles when you depress the clutch and when driving at low speed when you give it the gun it quiets down
