Qualified 13th on the grid out of 40, so a good start, although the time of 2:39.556 wasn\'t that quick. For reference, my RX-8 can lap Snetterton consistently at 2:33.00

1st race result shows "DNF" and only 4 of 7 laps completed :(

The good news is, he\'d come from 13th to 7th place, and the last lap recorded showed a time of 2:19.716, having gone consistently faster every lap until that point. The fastest lap of any car in the race was 2:14.907, so not a million miles of the pace. Clive would probably have been battling in the top 4 if his pace had continued.

No show in the subsequent two races, so I hope nothing serious.

Hi All,
First up many thanks to all of you who came along today, especially Jim (lennycarloff) who travelled a huge distance to be with us (sorry you got there to late Will 66).

To expand on the above as first cars out for qualifying on a very damp track this was not the best start to the day, especially in a rear wheel drive car against FWD and 4WD cars

Even though the car seemed to have zero grip I noticed the car was clutch slipping in 5th so was feathering out in 4th to get through qualifying.

Once back in the pits I gave the clutch as much free-play as possible but was suspicious the all was not well, and I was right!

The race itself was on a dry track and I consciously decided not to risk frying the clutch of the line, but sadly found that the clutch was slipping like mad from the off and as you will see from the video that’s coming I had to feather the clutch till it found some grip at around 7.000 rpm , then I could start to catch people !

When the clutch finally cried enough it was frustrating as I knew the car was quicker than the 3rd and 4th placed cars I was trying to overtake and even more frustrating was that had the clutch not been slipping at all that car would have been way way quicker that at least these two cars and you never know maybe even the leaders.

By now I knew the problem was oil on the clutch due to the rear mail oil seal failing that meant a hugely disappointing  game over for the day.

On a plus side thanks to Jaydee the car now runs cleanly and at last properly, plus I can now get the car around all around the  Corram  complex thanks to the downforce from the rear wing and best of all I know that there is a lot of speed to come from the car overall.

As I said to Jaydee on the way home, yes real chocked to have had the car side-lined for such a stupid problem  but I would rather work through these problems with a car that should eventually prove to be competitive rather than a super reliable car that floundering around at the back of the grid !!!

Next outing will be the track day on the 5th of December at Brands and you can imagine, with the clutch sorted plus an engine that now performs how it should I am really looking  forward to its next outing---- see you there

p.s. video to follow

Here we go a Video :driving.

You can actually hear me playing with the throttle all the way through trying to get a clutch to grip---------- soooooooooooo frustrating that I had to wait till half way down the straights to see it then accelerate up to less powerful cars,  let alone the pain of no clutch grip off the corners.

Even had to feather out the throttle because 5th pulls so much torque that the clutch would not grip at all!

Malcolm feel free to dump this post and put this link up properly:Hammer - (edited by Malcolm :Thumbs-up video now embedded for easier viewing :)

Huge Thanks go to Philip (Prototype) for filming and editing

BTW the little Suzuki Swift in the last picture and the video  is a real sleeper as it looks like a little road saloon, however it weighs as much as a paper bag, sports a big turbo and holds the outright lap  record at Snetterton !

Clive, I enjoyed the video. The turbo spools up really quick. By judging the video, I can safely say that, Jaydee is by far one of the skilled mapper out there!

Its a nicely put together car. Looking forward to more videos.

Cheers

Very good video, good job! :)

All fresly built cars have minor and stupid problems. But when they start to work, all to hard work pays off.

And car sound amazing, turbo spools up fast, and she spits fire :) Seems like she has really nice torque band

Few questions thought: Why she has original steeringwheel? And why your racesuit is blue, not yellow? ;)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.
