Looks interesting. Not completely sure about the upstands on the wing though, how thick is the sheet ?

Looks about 3mm. Thick enough for a sill, should be fine.

So still keeping the existing Wing on there Clive? Why not do away with it and have a double vane on the new one?

Couple of things,

The struts are stronger than they look as they are joined in pairs (not visible in the pictures).

Keeping the lower wing was deliberate as it should (hopefully) tidy up turbulence from behind the car, also the wing is as I put it "a Red Bull wing" because it  flexes at high speed down onto the lower wing.

An RX8 owner (Bob) took the video below which shows the car in corners looking a little better than ever before

Just keep an eye on the bottom corner just above the bottom wing. Do you have a radius in that edge ? Will crack upwards under fatigue if its a sharp corner.

Does look cool :)

We are finally going Racing again in anger next Saturday at Snetterton with a car that is finally mapped and running properly and should be producing much more than the 300 BHP it was .

Thanks to many many hours work and the same in support and mapping from Jaydee and Kerim of my sponsors from Powergains and after a successful run today, this means as you will see below we will be in three 15 minute races, this time on the full 300 circuit.

http://www.snetterton.co.uk/calendar.../msvr-(1).aspx

As many will know attempting something that has never been done anywhere else on the planet will always be a challenge and we can now say 100% that we have integrated a big power RX-8 FD engine into the RX-8 chassis keeping everything like the stability and traction control systems working correctly, this has taken one year of work plus a huge amount of patience to make the engine run properly, indeed many times I have considered alternative routes just to get the car out there racing properly even if it deviated from my original build plan.

This time around I have changed the engine wiring loom, had a different stock ECU initialised into the chassis sent the Adaptronic ECU away for updating plus I have changed many other components as well. So many parts have been changed even the exhaust system (now running Racing Beat cat Back) that we really don’t know what cured the misfire/ detonation faults that had us baffled for so long.

Once again I must say thank you to Jaydee and Kerim for the huge support they have given to get my Rotary out on track now functioning correctly .

Arrrrrrgggghhhh, gutted  :( I had put this race in my diary a while back and was looking forward to seeing the car again, having seen all it\'s previous outings on track. I knew there was a home footie match the same day at 3pm in Colchester which I "have" to attend.  No problem I thought, I\'ll get up early to arrive at Snetterton ~8am and I could stay until about 1.30pm to see at least practice and one race. However......

Last night my son asked if I could accompany him to a local Audi dealer this Saturday at 10am to help him test drive a low mileage 2 year old A1, with a view to purchase. Of course I said yes, as this will be the first time he\'s bought a car of his own. It was only when Clive called me today I realised the clash

So, it looks as though I\'m going to miss the car\'s first, proper, outing, and miss meeting up with other club members there too. So disappointed :(

Anyway, good luck on Saturday Clive, I hope you give the Skyline and 200SX some serious competition. I would so dearly loved to have seen that :)

BTW, your camera card will be in the post to you first thing in the morning - got home too late today to catch the post!

I ought to be able to make it over for a couple of the races although my Saturday is quite busy so I cannot promise anything.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

Was planning on coming up to see this and stay with the girlfriends family who live up in Norfolk.

Turns out they\'re coming to US this weekend because our little one has her first Ballet show...

Best of luck Clive! Looking forward to attending some of the races next season as it\'ll be an excuse to run in my new engine as well! :Party

I really wish that I could see it run tomorrow. But cant :)

Yeah, give em hell Clive! :)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.
