Trying to get my 20B running with no joy yet. Just to illuminate things I noticed I have a constant loud beeping sound when I turn on the ignition. it only seems to start after the key has been on about 5-10secs. And keeps going till I key off. Anyone remind me what this is? No dash warning lights up?

Low coolant warning buzzer Leeroy?

leeroy_25

Not sure.. Could be but coolant is full. Could try and earth the plug and see if it stops it. Does that come on after a few seconds? Does that buzzer go off for any other reason?
Long time since I had an rx7 running so cannot remember exactly what is what on the warning sounds!

Thanks

The only other buzzer I know of is the rev limiter, but I am no expert. What ECU are you using Leeroy?

Okay.. So unplugging the water temp made no difference. Earthing it out also made no difference. So same buzzer I presume but going off for another reason? Oil level sensor? Will try the same. Rev litter uses that buzzer as well does It? I didn\'t know that! Hmm could be that then as the Rev counter is not working properly and starts bouncing around on full rpm as soon as you key on!

Hi Lee

From memory unplugging the coolant sensor will not stop the buzzer, I would say try another sensor before you get too involved
All the best Clive

Unplugging it would make the buzzer trigger. I earthed it to see if the buzzing would stop which it didn\'t! Also was curious to see if any other warnings came on when I plugged it but it made no difference.

In addition to high rpm shift, coolant low also keys left in ignition with door open and not running as a reminder.

But as you say your tacho needle is going above 7k? that will set buzzer off.

So now the car is running I have managed to confirm the buzzer is from the coolant level light being on. Coolant is fine though and earthing the lead makes no difference. So I assume there is a fault further back up the wiring or where it goes to the dash. Someone mentioned an F100 box as it looks like it goes to some kind of ECU before the dash according to the wiring diagram.
Can anyone give me further tips on where to look or test next for continuity or voltage reading please.

Thanks for the link. The cooling sensor continuity tests fine. Plus earthing the lead should stop the buzzer but it doesn\'t.
