Hi I\'m just wondering what bhp can I expect from a fd3s twin turbo with a healthy engine...say average 7\'s on a compression test with these mods and a decent remap with safe ish power.

Mods
Xs power intercooler
Hks air filter
Uprated larger radiator
Full de-catted exhaust system
Apexi fc ecu.

If if was mapped by..let\'s say pip at wgt or if I went to blitzboy?

Ps.sorry for the thread as I can imagine it\'s been asked before but I\'ve been looking for 20mins and can\'t find anything. Cheers

300 HP would be a good number to look at, probably need to upgrade the injectors and FPR though

Ashp1989

Il need to up rate the for and injectors to get 300bhp? What would I have to do to get around 350bhp?

BlitzBoy

stock fuel system if in good condition is fine up to 330-340 bhp

dont put a sh&^ xs power cooler, you are better off with the stock ducted cooler to be fair, if you are going to put an intercoller make sure its a decent branded FMIC or V mount, like PWR ,Greddy,HKS

power wise you are looking at 300 to 320

I have a fairly similar setup but Feed FMIC, 3" exhaust and uprated and direct-wired fuel pump and I\'m at 315bhp flywheel with mapping by Pip. I have stock injectors, stock FPR, my boost is slightly up over stock but not much. My car is my only car so mapping is quite safe.

My next step is bigger secondary injectors so he can turn up the boost.

Pip maps quite conservatively unless you tell him otherwise.

Think il will get an fmic tbh. Il look on the for same section when I\'m on the look out for 1. How much could I possibly pick a fmic or a vmount? And what are they like to fit the vmounts? Any tinkering. And also how come you don\'t have to duct a vmount in? They don\'t really have a feed?

Grant Monkhouse

A v mount acts as a huge scoop/gaping mouth so all the air your are driving through has to go through either the rad or the IC.

Ashp1989

Is the V mount the 1 that lies flat?

Grant Monkhouse

The intercooler lies flat and the rad at angle, a v turned on its side

With the apexi and exhaust you should get up to 300fwhp pending who maps it, the xs power ic is just :censored::censored::censored::censored:e, nothing else worth saying, but the uprated rad will do you right.

A 044 or similar fuel pump and reg and a genuinely good ic set up will do you the world of good, WI when you want to get silly with boost

Ah right I get you. The bigger rad that is on this car they had to modify the cross member apparently to get the rad to fit. I want a v mount or a fmic that will just fit straight on without any tinkering, iv had cars in the past wer Iv had to trim the crash bar/bumper to get the fmic to fit and among my own brackets etc. cba with the rx7 doing all that. Is ther a decent, not so expensive intercooler out there that is like this?

samoht

I could be wrong, but my impression is that any decent front or V-mount intercooler means relocating the rad and a/c condenser if you have one, and is a hassle.

Edit: fitting an FMIC on my car required
- relocate rad and a/c condenser to more vertical position
- replace air intake with a more compact one
- relocate battery to boot
plus fitting the actual IC and piping, and a remap.

Then ducting, although this isn\'t mandatory.

Ashp1989

That\'s what I mean. Grrrr lol. Ther must be a kit out ther to fit directly. But then again it depends on the size of the rad. Nothing is ever a straight forward job :(

wolfie1

There is always this intercooler, the rad and ac rad and power steering cooler stays where it is but you do need to cut away some stuff from the front of the car, i have 1 of these and they are very good.
My work is the sole uk importer of this brand so if you do want 1 you could be added to the next group buy and save some pennies

get onto mishimoto, they do some very good flowing smaller intercoolers at keen prices too
