What\'s it worth and can you tell me more fd3s

Hi guys. My first post on here. Iv currently got a subaru impreza type r import which I\'m selling and looking at buying this 1993 import fd3s. It\'s not been drove for 18months, I don\'t no if it\'s been started in that time either (I could be wrong)

The bodywork is mint, and I mean mint. The guy who has it owns his own bodyshop and I know him quite well and he takes pride in all his cars, the car looks faded but that\'s because it\'s been stood for sooo long and gathered all sorts of elements and dust etc.

He\'s took the side skirts off it and welded up the holes as he thought it looked better without them. Got the big spoiler on the back.
Got service history
Not been rebuilt
Got a full exhaust system with decats all the way, updated intercooler
He did day it\'s got a apexi fc but needs to be set up properly.

My question is what do you think it\'s worth?
And what would the worse I can be expecting with it being sat for so long?
He did say he\'s going to get it started and checked over before he sells it, I won\'t tell you how much he wants for it untill I get some replies because I want t no what you guys think as it\'s would be my first rex. I have read up on the maintenance etc and it doesn\'t bother me that much as it won\'t be a daily

And he did have the seat re-trimmed in leather. If ther is anything else you can spot in the engine bay then that would be good. Cheers ash.

I\'m not sure. I don\'t think it has. But he did say it hasn\'t got a lot of fuel in it which is a good thing. Obviously it needs a service. But he\'s going to see wha it needs first.

Ok bud just they dont like being sat with fluids in. Possible that the fuel/ coolant has attacked the seals car will run but water system will pressurise which is a rebuild. If your serious get it checked over/serviced by a rotary specialist as a few quid spent now could save you the cost of a rebuild. defo get 1 there awesome but tread carefully.

Thanks. Iv heard they don\'t like being sat. Sad really as it\'s such an immaculate car. I can\'t afford a rebuild for another year is say. If it needs 1 il walk away. Il get it checked over definatley. But they are few and far between. The nearest 1 is wgt developments. It\'s not too far but would they come out to have a look? Obviously I\'d pay them but I don\'t think they would?? Iv heard the apex seals go and need a Rebuild, hope not though

It needs to be at project price tbh...and a gamble taken...worth givin them a ring and asking.

He said he would be happy with 5k. It did seem a good price, but now it doesn\'t as I don\'t want to spend that much money yet. My budget will be around the 5k mark.

Too much as is...12 months mot fresh service and apexi mapped  . With a good compression test result.
5k bud see a rotary specialist youll get a lot of rx7 for that. Put a wanted in the for sale section below.  thats just too much as the car stands now.

Theres a few guys on here mate that sell them put a request in and youll see you can get alot more for money.

I Idealy wanted an fd3. Such a shame because the bodywork and interior is immaculate I can have a work with the guy. You never no, the engine could be fine when it\'s been checked over. Iv looked in the for sale section on the 3rd generations and ther doesn\'t seems that many.

Ok thanks for your help. I don\'t want to put 1 up yet as il have this 1 checked over by a specialist, have a compression test done and go from there. Might get it at a project price u never no. So I don\'t want to mess people about by putting 1 up yet. Might be worth a punt though and see what\'s out there. Cheers. Ash.

What would you be looking to pay for it? If it needs a rebuild, or if it\'s fine and just needs a service?
