Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Well here we are, two short vids of Clive\'s race car mapping on Saturday. Weather was poor and the strip of tarmac full of holes, but it was enough for the guys from Powergains (Kerim & Jaydee) to make progress with the mapping.
Sorry for the poor quality and sound;

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

That clutch and flywheel combo makes it rev!!!! And it now braps:):evillaugh:D

Can\'t wait to see it racing.

Are you getting a go pro for race days?

Tip for CJR, if it\'s windy when taking a video cup your hand over the microphone area, it will cut the wind noise out but record the important  bits in :)

re japi

Yes it braps!!! Sorry I doubted you Carl ;)

Holy crap, I dont know if that exhaust will live long if she runs so hot all the time ;)
She is Spitfire!

Btw, when is dyno day?

nice work exhaust looks very hot indeed so it works :Thumbsup!

It\'s the Cat you can see glowing in the end of the exhaust. Normally we don\'t see them \'cos they are tucked up inside the exhaust under the car.

It will deter anyone thinking of undertaking Clive on track....if he was going slow enough to give them the option ! :god

It was weired to see flames coming from the exhaust on tick over !!! :Nono!

Last weekend threw up yet another "development"  problem but thanks to all your help with sponsorship monies the blow has been softened THANKYOU :god

We were keeping the monies aside for the on-board fire extinguisher I will need to go racing , but instead we have pointed the monies toward this latest hick-up that popped up!.

With space being such a problem in the RX-8 engine bay due to the chassis legs and subframe, I had a small 50 AMP race Altonator tucked down the side of the engine with literally 2 or 3mm to spare.

Unfortunately last weekend Jaydee could see through the laptop while mapping that this little Altonator was simply not man enough voltage / amperage wise.

Ater lots of internet searching I found that Brise motorsports electrical dept was potentially the only company that could have any chance of helping or it would mean the whole project would be set back by weeks while I re-engineered the  whole engine bay to accommodate a stock monster Altonator !!

Brise have come to the rescue with a custom Altonator that as you can see from the test sheet has taken this tiny Alternator to a huge over 100 Amp output------------ to more than double its out put inside the same small Altonator is really impressive.

As they say power costs money, and with vat and the initial cost of the Altonator this powerful custom unit has cost around £600

However as said above with the help from the good people here on MRC this blow has been softened considerably, thank you.
All the best Clive
