Hi there everyone,


Recently bought my 1st Mazda rx7 so don\'t reali know anyone on the forum.

Looking to go to japfest 2014 next year and would like to put car on stand if possible?

Be nice to meet people.

I have just called the hotel and as you state Malcolm no rooms available.  I was hoping to do a block booking.

The Badminton Horse Trials are on that week.

Minimum stay is 2 nights at Cepen Park, but the prices are £120.00 for the Friday night and £128 for the Saturday night

Looks like we need to source another hotel in the area asap as other people will obviously be doing the same!

Badminton is only about 5 miles from Castle Combe on the other side of the M4. The event is on from Wed 7th to Sunday 11th May :reallymad

Had a quick look at hotels and there is very little left in the area at ANY price, just the odd room here and there BUT, the M4 Leigh Delamere services Westbound and Eastbound are showing rooms available at the Travelodges. There is a service road out of both of these service areas to easily get to Japfest. Harrizone (Rote8), lennycarloff, I and others stayed at the Eastbound a few months back for a trackday at Castle Combe. Basic, but OK.

Website shows;

Eastbound 9th May - £60
Westbound 9th May - £46

I thought I\'d better call to find out more (0871 984 6227) and I was told availability was;

Westbound, one at £46, another 4 at £53 (that\'s it, 5 rooms)
Eastbound, 10 (possibly more) available at £60

Lisa - there is a group booking option on that telephone number and I was told (via another option) that I\'d need to use that option to see if there were any discounts. I\'ll hold back whilst others may wish to comment.

I\'d be OK with the Eastbound (or Westbound) services, but I think we\'ll have to move quick else they\'ll all be gone.

OK, so it\'s a Travelodge, but it may be our only option for miles.

I stopped at the Holiday Inn in Bristol, worked quite well. Only about 40mins away from the track, was about £40 for Friday night !

ULTRA - URGENT:

Shaun, you\'ve just reminded me that I have previously stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, right on Jn 16 of the M4. We get off at Jn 17 for Castle Combe, so only one junction away. I think the hotel and car park security is a lot better at this place than the Travelodge.

The good news is, rooms are currently available for just £31 on Friday 9th, continental breakfast included, but don\'t bank on getting breakfast it as we may have to leave at the crack of dawn We can try and gang up on the staff on the Friday night to get something early for us!

I\'ve just spoken to Clive and we are both booking this tomorrow, booking lines have just closed BUT I managed to secure a block booking for 24 hours on NINE rooms at guaranteed £31. Rooms have to be secured with a credit card by 10pm tomorrow night (19th) else the bookings lapse.

What I suggest is this (Clive and I aside);

If you are happy to stay at this hotel, please use the link above to book your room. IF the price doesn\'t show £31, contact me asap tomorrow and I can give you a booking reference to get you a guaranteed twin or double room at £31 (so up to two people can share a room), but remember, these bookings lapse in 24 hours.

This rate is non-refundable, I think the normal rate, where you can cancel is ~£59.
