Hopefully we get some good news on this..

And I can make my car available to you to have a look at its wiring after saturday.

We got a bit further today (we think)

We have now sorted the OBD wiring wich did turn out to be an empty fuse holder and have read the codes, sure enough PO 1688 is amongst the 16 codes we have brought up.

Removed the two OMP pipe bungs started the engine and nothing came out,. would this happen with an out of adjustment position sensor.

Also I now need to find out from Adaptronic or somebody who maybe knows on here if we need a front O2 sensor as my guy now thinks this closed loop facility may only be available on the stand alone Adaptronic only.

Do you know if any of the other codes below other than the OMP with throw the ECU into limp mode so we don\'t cure one bit and still have another going on ??

Thanks Jon,

We think we are all ok with the wiring now, just got to stop the car going into limp mode so it can be mapped

PO113  - unknown but may revert to a default base map to run
P2008 - Unknown
PO443 - unknown
0037 - no
0031 - possible but can\'t remember
0000 - have no clue what this is
0102 map sensor - unknown but may revert to a default base map to run
1688 - YES
2259 air solenoid - NO
0661 solenoid
0037 cat sensor
0031 front O2 sensor
0113
0300 random/multiple cylinder miss fire - don\'t honk so but power loss is possible
2201 - Unknown
1300 - unknown but I think this is igniter based so could be adding to the P0300 issue

Not all definite answers but hope its of help

U0155 lost comm IPC inst cluster

I only have 2 in there at mo because battery isolator was turned off. 6 are stored after a drive before reset ( isolator off) ive driven mine for 40 mins and 6 is all i get. I cant see any resistors spliced into loom to replicate sensor.

I have no post cat sensor so get a code for cat and heater for that sensor and no air pump but the solenoid is still connected but i get a code for secondary air circuit.

There will be definitions for all these codes on BBAreman.

Pre cat 02 sensor is key for the car to run in closed loop...defo need to check if this is required with the adaptronic.

Does it do its start up routine? (The hi pitch electrical scream and actuator pulsing?)

Thanks Jon

Andy@adaptronic has mailed to say we do need the front sensor.

Does not seem to go through the normal fuel start up probably because we are using a fuel return system the same as an FD

Found full electrics here and started having a look....is the omp doing its learn on start up? needs to see fully open switch?

Goes into limp mode after 3 to 4 seconds which must mean it is limping because it cant go through it\'s initialisation process let alone anything else !

Sent over diagrams I have been scribbling on courtesy of Aston who has also been a Huge help along the way.

BTW All sorted to put the Maf wiring back in the system on Sunday

Nearly nearly there (I think)

You just might even be more excited when you hear it revving as we all agree  it sounds like no other Rotary we have ever heard:D

Kerim believes its probably due to the unique intake system with its Racing Beat "Weber" lower intake and fabricated upper intake yes, Carl built a real nice Bridge Port for the car but it sounds like no Bridge Port you have ever heard :D.

I have the car back home now so I can hopefully sort the wiring issues, Adaptronic have been a help with info with many e-mails but it turns out  nobody has ever integrated the RX-8 chassis system to operate alongside the REW engine as those who have tried have ended up bombing out and fitting a manual throttle body to get around the problems that have now had many man hours devoted to.

Shame is if we had not encountered these multiple wiring issues the car would have been driving and mapped a couple of weeks ago.

Is the LIM a 4 branch fed from 2 throttle bodies? Or 4 branch from 1?
