When you come to Castle Coombe as part of your series....they run an Open saloons vs Gt\'s...The Putts usually enter that as well....so there could be 3 rotary\'s on track at 1 time.
Its usually 1 of the last races of the day though.

Huge thanks to Kerim, Jaydee and Dave @Powergains  who have spent the whole weekend with me getting the car fired up, till 8.30pm yesterday and 7.00pm tonight--------------you simply can\'t buy this sort of Rotary dedication because these guys want to see this car up n running just as much as me.

Bearing in mind the configuration we are running this car in by fitting the FD engine in but keeping all of the attributes of the RX-8 chassis in place, which is a first here in the UK, even Adaptronic were able to answer very little about how to make an FD engine correctly in the FE RX-8 chassis :3Confused.

Because of the above it took a very patient Jaydee something like 7 hours to build a map from scratch in the Adapronic ECU just to start the car, something way above most mortals :Thumbsup! and the out come is that Carls Bridgeport sounds great thanks to this huge amount of work that every one has put in.

Been a while but just about every thing you see under the bonnet is a one off mod by ether Powergains or myself to form this unique RX-8 engine bay.

Still got a few wiring issues to sort but it should come home as a finished car this week so I can look at starting to test and sitting Jaydee in the passenger seat at a race track to map the car in real life race conditions.

We have all been staggered and pleased  by just how sophisticated the Adaptronic ECU is now we have seen it loaded up on the computer, with many many parameters incorporated within with many functions not only being able to be incorporated overall, but separately in each gear as will as vehicle speeds can be sensed so essentially you can have different power and boost levels in each gear.

Really really looking forward to driving this car to find out what it\'s capable of out on track.

This is how the car now reads, Engine by Hayward Rotary, Engineering and tuning by Powergains, rolling shell prepped by me and chassis set up by Tony Gilhams Team Hard BTCC outfit.

Huge thanks to every one for the work and support you have all put in and shown to get it this now very special RX-8 this far :god
All the best Clive

There is an unsilenced trackday at donnington on the 11th (I think). Can check up if that helps.

Excellent news, gives me renewed hope for mine, I\'m keen to keep aspects of the RX8 electronics (principally the DSC and ABS) in my project and I wasn\'t finding too many ways of achieving this successfully.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

The news we have all ben waiting for. I wish now I had followed through with my intention to drop over to Powergains knowing you were there :wave but the wife had other ideas.

Having seen the extra mile that Karim, Jaydee and Dave go to I have no doubt that this project is just going to get better and better and you, Haywards and the guys at Powergains along with Team Hard deserve all credit for pulling this together despite a few setbacks.:god

Can\'t wait to see and hear this out on track as I can just imagine the RX8 chassis along with this engine pairing and with Clive at the wheel it is going to be a very competitive car.

After Jay can I bag the next passenger seat ride. Pretty please.:Laugh
Sadly no longer with us, RIP Ray, 9 Feb 2021

Well done Clive, Jaydee, Kerim ,Dave & main Sponser Lisa
I know the sense of relief & joy that you are feeling now when the "Project comes to Life" as I had with mine.
There is a lot of hard work ,time, & effort goes into building a race car, and I\'m really glad that it has all come together for you all.

Congrats to you Clive and all the team that have put in so much hard brain power to get to this stage, not an easy task to make it all gel together, hope testing goes well.
Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself...
But i can always do with some help now due to, my advancing years!

Thanks Guys,

Video, nah,:Hammer

Rubbish at this stuff so I have asked for one to be taken next time its fired up for you on here, sound is unusual for a Rotary, sounded more like a raspy piston engined Race car.

Be interesting to hear it out of the workshop to see if its any different

Ray, as one of my sponsors (thankyou) a ride is no problem once all is well,

p.s. Phil I know you have trod this painful journey------------ nearly there:D
All the best Clive
