Hi all,

This is more of a "testing the water" sort of deal-y. Basically, I am hugely keen on getting myself an RX-7 FD and am wondering what interest (if any) I would have if I were to sell my beloved RX-8. If the interest was there or I was offered the right price, I\'d very much like to sell it and put the money towards a nice FD.

Moving swiftly on...

Exterior:
Full factory-fitted Mazdaspeed body kit (incl. spoiler).
OEM 18" Alloy wheels (minor curbing, hardly noticeable).
Paintwork is in good condition, it could look amazing with a bit of loving though.
Very minor surface rust around the high level brake light - again, wouldn\'t take much to sort out.
New front brake disks and pads
Interior:
Custom grey/black two-tone leather interior - to go with the Sunlight Silver body colour.
XCarlink iPod/iPhone interface with Brodit ProClip and Brodit iPhone 4/4S cradle (cradle can be change dependent of phone or removed entirely) - allows full functionality of 6-CD changer and the ability to change songs on the iPod from the steering wheel controls.
Other bits/info:
Borla cat-back exhaust system (sounds amazing imo).
AEM Cold-air intake (Mazdaspeed)
BHR (black halo racing) ignition kit upgrade - will outlast the car, no more costly ignition coil replacements every 30-40k!
New NGK Iridium spark plugs - replaced 2k miles ago.
Running Revomax 15w40 rotary-grade mineral oil - topped off every 750 miles without fail, never goes under 1/2 on the dipstick
Axial Flow Engineering Short Shifter
MOT till August 2014
TAX till May 2014
Only ever run Shell VPower
Compression testing in the mid 7\'s all round
Mileage ~45,000 - I\'m still using it but not daily, so the mileage is subject to slight change.
Never tracked.
Driven hard only when warm and red-lined regularly (at least once per journey).

All in all, the car runs brilliantly and the engine can\'t be faulted. It starts hot or cold first time, every time and with the addition of the BHR ignition coils, it turns over in not much more than a blip. Admittedly, the body/paintwork could do with a bit of TLC but I think that is more than made up for with the extra components installed and how it drives.

I will upload pictures when I get home this evening.

I know the market for RX-8s is nowhere near as strong as it could/should be but the body kit alone would cost thousands to import and is notoriously hard to source.

If I were to be convinced to sell, it would have to be around the £4750 mark, or nearest offer.

Thoughts? Any interest is appreciated!

Regards,

Matt

Hi Matt and welcome to MRC

First thoughts would be to show some pictures as these help
sell much more than the write up.

Good luck with the sale and I hope you can turn the car into the FD you want
All the best Clive

Hi Clive,

As stated above, I will be posting pictures this evening.

Many thanks,

Pics as promised. I can take more details ones of any defects/extra bits and bobs on request but I feel this should do for starters :)

Just some more things I forgot to mention (pretty unimportant but still).

Metal rotor shaped oil cap
Metal rotor shaped tyre valve caps
(I\'m guessing you can see a pattern emerging?)
Metal rotor shaped centre console on/off/volume button

Oh and it\'s always premixed with Protek-R fuel lubricant :)

No interest so far... It can\'t be that bad! God forbid, I may have to think about ebaying/auto trader-ing it :/

May be an idea to drop an add over on the RX8 owners club buddy... Lots more people over there that are looking.
You would need to sign up as a member though.

Actual compression test figures would be a great help specially if they are all in the mid 7\'s as you say. (I assume this was done with a rotary tester)
Turbocharged 192ps RX-8 running Meth Injection on an Adaptronic
Fully Bridgeported 231ps RX-8 stripped for the Track
2nd Gen RX-7 TurboII on a GT35r (show winner)

Hi Arnie,

I\'m a member of the RX-8 club and just creating an add over there now actually! The compression test results were done by Mazda themselves in December 2012 and I have photocopies of the results if anyone wanted to see them :)

Upon further consideration, I will be keeping my \'8. With the reality dawning of selling her, it\'s just not worth it!

Sorry for wasting anyone\'s time!
