1500 miles? :) You really have been driving. Well, with awesome car, driving is just spending time and sitting. :)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Really lovely to see these photos Clive. Gives me a bit of inspiration to get on with mine. The yellow is striking and looks good! Wish i could have come down to see it. How did you find the handling? How did the bigger wheels affect it?  I\'ve still got the 13"s on mine but they could do with going a little bigger but like you, the handling is important. Looks are important too but need a compromise and 4x110 PCD is always a pain!

Great car, looking lovely, brilliant stuff.

The RX-4 actually handled very very well with a slight bit of controllable understeer.

Mind you its aided by the fact that I had the shocks converted to coil over shocks so I could get rid of the nose up attitude that RX-4\'s have plus 200lbs front springs.

Wheels are 7x15 but the profile of the tyres keeps the overall diameter the same as stock, so the gearing is not altered at all.

To continue the history of the car this link may amuse you, taken by a very patient Chris (CJR), as Jim (Lennycarloff) said it even looks like period footage,

It\'s from when I took the RX-8 to Goodwood a few weeks ago, just for the grin of taking the car round such an historic track.

Also Lisa was looking around and found this great looking picture we had never seen before :D

Real shame I cant upload as a bigger image

While doing my normal search on E-Bay for RX-4 parts I came across a Custom Car Mag from November 1973 featuring a road test and pictures taken by Chelsea Bridge in London  of my exact model RX-4 (Series 1 12A)

My "new" Custom Car mag arrived today  :Thumbs-up

See they did make UK RX-4\'s in Yellow :Thumbsup!

Clive as a friend, don\'t take this the wrong way but "if you sell that car before mine is up and running I\'m going to cut your toes off"!!!

Best hurry up Grant its up for sale tomorrow (fortunately I\'m only joking )

Seriously I sat and wrote this out below, the more I wrote it dawned on me what just how special this car really is :Thumbsup!

If ever you have seen Clint Eastwood in "Gran Torino" I have had referances made about this film, i.e. when you die but only in fun :Giggle

As you will see, I sure as hell was not going to give it away !!!.

"If" I would have sold it as this money it would have immediately upped the price right through our Rotary world, don\'t forget many now invest in rare classic cars cars due to no return with banks etc and this has led to many cars that you would not think would command "real real" monies going through the roof ---------- 1 million doller 240Z springs to mind, a normal Jag being restored back to stock for 100K, I could go on and on.

Mazda RX-4 1973 12A Series one Coupe.

Stunning rare RX-4 that’s possibly the most famous and photographed RX-4 in the world and the only RX-4 on the Road in the UK if not Europe that can be checked on this link. http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=mazda+rx4

Simply put Mazda RX-4 into Google and this Magazine featured car immediately comes up plus it has also won many show awards including Best of Shows at Brooklands and Rotorstock.
This super rare UK delivered RX-4 taxed with Mot and is ready on the button to win many more as it turns more heads than an Enzo. However it’s not just a Show Car it’s very enjoyable to use road car and even took a trip around Goodwood race track a couple of months ago, even though it was at a leisurely pace.

Due to the rarity and following of these cars and the condition of this RX-4 both inside and out with all original excellent condition seats and interior this represents an excellent financial investment that will appreciate year on year.
Also featured on Speedhunters.com which also shows the amazing original interior condition.  http://www.speedhunters.com/2010/08/car_spotlight_gt_gt_mellow_yellow_rx4/

After searching for many years after starting my apprentice working on these cars at a Mazda dealer, this numbers matching RX-4 was found correctly stored “actually inside a house, owned by an ex-Works Mazda Rally Driver for 26 years which was his Mazda dealer father’s last car.

This  means the body shell on this car has never been welded as the heat from the house preserved the car, the car was then lovingly taken apart cleaned and painted only because the paintwork had deteriorated, even the delivery plastics were still on the back seat and all the door panels.

This gorgeous head turning stock RX-4 apart from the Crager wheels fits in at any show, be it classic, custom etc., is on the road and ready to drive and show with a newly refreshed engine at 41700 miles that was only rebuilt as a precaution with one brand new rotor housing fitted due to a slight piece of corrosion with  every seal and gasket renewed, plus a new clutch assembly using all new genuine Mazda Parts, see here for engine being assembled http://youtu.be/69LE-WiPXd8

With the coming show season looming, I figured we would give the RX-4 a nice new MOT (which it passed with no problems) plus a new set of wheels

We now have Rocket Racing rims that are 8x15 rear and 7x15 fronts that are a much cleaner looking rim than the Cragers they replace.

Off to Wheels Day at Dunsfold next Friday for its first show of the year.

If you have never heard of Wheels Day, its HUGE
