Just had a tinker with my fc and noticed there is only one tuve connected properly to the oil catch tank. (one of the two on the top)

Where should the other tubes go to? One of the top hoses are not connected anywhere neither is the bottom thicker one. :xconfused

(PS yes its running normally now :D)

hi liam ive been told that u connect one end to the oil filler neck & u can leave the other end open!  ps. where have u fitted ur oil catch tank?

L18M

thanks Mick, what about the bottom hose?
Its stock oil catch tank in passenger side firewall.

Hows your fc now? finally all sorted or still some finishing touches?

Am sure I read some ware that its illegal to (vent to atmosphere) leave one end open... Not that all are 100% legal
If you got a descent catch tank that will condense vapours then just plum the outlet back in to the system (where the filler neck pipe would have gone) the vacuum effect will aid in drawing fumes containing vour in to the tank

You could route the spare top hose from the breather tank bank through a one way valve into the line that comes from the charcoal canister - if you still have that - it can then be drawn back into the engine.

I think the bottom hose is just meant to be a drain off point - some tanks just have a screw in bung.

The too two pipes one is the Breather from engine into tank the other top port should either be vented through a breather filter or back too the intake the bottom port is just a drain as prof said

My problem is I have no idea where the breather pipe come from on the engine

The 2 \'breather\' points are on the oil neck - one at the top and one on the iron itself at the bottom of the oil filler neck.  On an FC, the bottom one is fed through a purge control valve and only vents into the intake at certain rev / vac conditions, the top one is just fed into a T with the line coming off the charcoal canister and fed back through a one way valve int the intake, just behind the air filter.

Cool ill have a look as I have no breathers to the intake and I have no carbon canister so ill have a look and see if I can work them out

Liam are you talking about an aftermarket oil catch can or the stick charcoal canister (black plastic tank on the passenger side firewall) ?

Charcoal can is for evaporated petrol fumes - we have an out and back fuel system, and it picks up a little heat in the engine bay ;-)  Evaporates are fed back along another pipe from the back and are held in the charcoal canister to be consumed later by the engine ;-)
