Generally from my experience HKS Cusco JIC are the harder coilovers. Teins are softer.
Look out for the spring rate if you know. Else if you dont want "stance" then Tein NA are bit harder than OEM but softer than full adjustable coilovers. Ride height is prob about 1.1-1.5cm lower than oem suspension.
I got some Tein NA but they can do with some cleaning up and re paint to meet your standards ;)
2 doritos on a stick woohoo :rollin

Yeh Teins are maybe your best shout Michael.
The Tein Flex was comfy on soft setting on your blue 7.

This one sounds promising for you, an updated version of Super Street.
I know Tein Super Street are perfect for day-to-day driving as my mate had a set on his Celica and the ride was set almost halfway from soft and it was still liveable.

Although not jap, heard good reviews for BC Racing coilovers.
BC BR series is generally the one people buy for street and circuit use.
Similar to Teins, they have pillowball top mounts and have about 30 way damping adjustment.

Most jap ones I see are crap , I\'ve had some and put them on a shock Dyno and they are very poor !! , bilstiens are soft damped but most are down to spring rate . Most are way to hard , hsd will do you some with softer springs normally they are good and not stupid money ,
