Quote from: mick choi;861896nice fd, the rear tyres r a bit skinny i was running 265/35/18 on the rear  when my fd was std body with no rubbing

Hi mick, all round they are skinnier than I would prefer.  The fronts wouldnt take more than the 225 otherwise they were scraping. So based on that I went 235 in rears. Could have defo done 245 on rears, but I don\'t think it would look right with \'fuller\' tyres in rear and skinnier on front. Just my own preference :D

No probs m8,  it\'s just if u had wider tyres ur handling would b much better as I run 225/40/18 on the front & 265/35/18 on the rear (that\'s why f1 cars run massive tyres on rear & much skinnier tyres on front) & it handle like it was on rails & stable @ over190mph chasing tr racings 750 bhp r34 skyline who hit 200 mph on his gps.

LOL... I understand dude... that\'s why I decided to keep the rota\'s as a spare set, will put some wider track tyres on them, when current set are useless, and use thm for track days ;)

Sorry this isn\'t exactly an update but had to put this up :D

So I\'m at work today and and I have a meeting with my accountant. He turns up in his new 911 Carrera 4s. He\'s had it a few months but I\'ve not seen it and he\'s always tx\'ing to tell me what car he\'s blown away (I have a cool accountant lol), so I\'m always egging him on cause I do like Porsches :D

Anyway\'s, today he turns up in his Porsche and parks outside. Out the passenger side pops his 16 year old nephew who\'s doing some work experience with him. We\'ve spent almost 2 hours going through paperwork, however mostly paperwork was being interrupted by each of them telling me how they blew past a Beemer, and a Merc, (etc, etc) last week, or last month. So the young one pops out for 10 mins to petrol station for a coke and on the way out he goes past my truck, and hidden behind the truck is the Rex, he comes running straight back in and starts asking who\'s is it, so I tell him it\'s mine and then all I get is "show me, show me, show me". So that pretty much ends our paperwork. I take them out and show them around it, tell them the spec\'s roughly (accountant looking a little nervous now lol). I offer to take them for a spin but accountants says his rushed for time and they have to get going, but the nephews adamant they have enough time for a quick spin. So he jumps in and I start it up, idle a little bit, rev it up and the accountant comes over to my drivers side and says with a smile "oh I expect\'d it to be louder than that cause it looks fast".... Now the games on!

So I drive down to the junction (20 metres away), brand new tarmac, nice hot day today, sticky as FDUK with the AD08\'s I\'m thinking. I wait for all the cars to clear up, roll it slowly into the road... Rev it to 5k\'ish, let the clutch up, bang the accelerator down and there\'s no wheel spin, no clutch slip, no drive-shaft failure, the fduk\'ing thing just flew, the kid just screamed through the four gears, as the car turbo whooshed away and the exhaust popped like a machine gun when I hit the rev limiter in every gear. I know there was a hidden junction in front, so leave it as late as possible and slam on the brakes, there\'s no tyre squeal, no steering wobble/judder, just felt like I\'d probably hit a brick wall, out the corner of my eye I can see my 16 year old passenger jerking forward, with (I think) a slightly painful look on his face as the seatbelt keeps him in place. I come to a halt at the junction and look left at him and he\'s got the biggest smile on his face, "do it again, do it again, plzzzzzz" LOL.

So I take him around a few side roads around work, and they\'re all dead at this time, so I pretty much used every rev in every gear.

We poodle back to work and I pull up next to the kerb and both of us get out.

Uncle says "what you think nephew?" :)
Nephew says "its mental uncle" :D
Uncle says "OKay, you think we should take them both out for a spin sometime?" with a smile on his face :)
nephew smiles and says "it\'ll kill yours! I\'m sitting in this!" :D

Accountant stops the grinning but tries a fake smile and looks at his watch and says "oh is that what time it is, we need to back to the office, I got loads to do" :o

REX 1 - Porsche 0 :D

and car looks really good :)
Power is nothing without control. Weight is enemy of performance, handling and braking.

Hey Geezers,

Last time I picked the car up from the body-shop I still had a few jobs left to do, that I\'ve finally managed to get sorted. Firstly, for some reason the body-shop decided to remove the rear wiper arm but leave the motor in place, go figure  Second my rear window seal was rotten at the joint but i wasn\'t able to get one in time. And last needed to fit a-little-something ;)

I think she looks better with the new lip spoiler :D

Also had a bit of time to myself so i fitted some farbon-dipped dash and center console pieces (sorry crap pics, but gives you any idea) better than my worn out standard items i had previously :D

And my new R-magic Gear Knob. So Shiny and heavy as FDUK! Lol
