Coming back from Powergains, who are working on the Race car,  I came across this now rare sight ----- cars that were worth 2 bob that are now worth thousands!

Ironically I had just had the conversation with Jaydee about how a 4 door Ford Escort Popular can now be worth 4K as a barn find ---------- and then I see all these two doors on the M25 !!!

I have friend with a Mexico and he wants 10,000 fit it and its a right shed, none original, stripped out etc.

If I was to do the old car thing again after the RX4 it would be a Mexico with a turbo rotor in it. You can buy everything to bolt straight into the car and make a good race car or rally car:3gears-rh:burnout

Take a trip to Malta.

There are countless 2 door Escort MK1\'s still on the road there.

Also saw quite a few dragging at Hal-Far Raceway.

Only trouble is, the owners seem to know exactly how much they are worth back in the U.K.

Think we need to buy them now as even the stock 2 door cars are fetching a premium now, never mind a nice 1600 mexico or a rs2000.
Prices of most 70\'s cars are shooting up atm.

My cousin has a Mk1 escort van project sitting in his garage, anyone interested if he wants to sell up?
I started with nothing and I have most of it left

About thirteen years ago my then-girlfriend\'s parents had a Mk II three door Escort in decent nick.  They offered it to me for bobbins.  I should have bought it.  Especially now half decent Escort shells are going for insane money!

Good to see Clive\'s going to see his Race Car in the RX4 though.

Apparently putting details of your car spec in your signature means the nice folks on exile-rotorsport think you\'re a fool.  I can think of no higher compliment!

I\'ve still got a highly modded mk1 Escort :yes .
Those cars will be off to Escort-tec no doubt . They import them in and sell them on over here . Any clean 2 door mk1/2 Escort 1100/1300L shell is £5000 and that\'s with nothing else bolted to it !!!!

Is he using an atlas rear end? I looked at one of those for my rx4, but too expensive so ended up using a combination of rx4, FB rx7 and Kia to make a axle strong enough to run power for 9 second 1/4. All for £700 total:D

As for WRXs..... Not a chance!!

It would be cheaper to buy one if the fibreglass bodies and put a tube frame together than buy an original. Would be much safer too!

My mate popped round...he wants more like 40 K! His axle originated from a p100 pick up....its been rebuilt by a rally prep firm and cost £4563.00....i think he is mad.

Its got a vauxhall red top init at 230 bhp...that cost him nearly 8k.....i told him he should\'ve put a rotary init!
