The time has come to sell my pride and joy!  One of if not the finest rx7’s in the country. This car has covered only 22,000 genuine miles from new! Full history, totally immaculate condition!!
This car is a one off and MUST be seen. If you are looking for a low mileage rx7 then this car is everything you are looking for including a few very nice specifically chosen modifications.

Imported by NewEra Imports back in 2006 this car has had only 2 UK owners (I am the second UK owner and have owned it for 4 years)
The car is a 1992 model but is based on a 1999 replica, details of this can be seen by following the link below where the car was originally imported.
Please see the original advert for the car at NewEra can still be viewed by this link:
http://www.neweraimports.com/soldcarDetails.jsp?carId=265

Although this car has been modified it has always ran standard boost , it has never been molested. It has never been on a track or drifted.  The Car has always been warmed up and cooled down as you would expect. It has been maintained with no expense spared. The paint work is immaculate as it has been garaged all its life and within the last 2 years it has had a full respray in the original Maxda red.

List of modifications the car came with when I purchased it:

-   This RX-7 has been fitted with an original Polyurethane plastic 1999+ model\'s front bumper, bumper stay, original sidelight & indicator units, front lip spoiler and adjustable original 1999 rear spoiler too
-   Super Advan Generation II split rim lightweight forged alloy wheels with black spokes and red trim beneath new stainless steel bolts
-   Tyres are nearly new Yokohama DNA Grand Prix of size 235/40ZR17 front and 255/40ZR17 rear.
-   Suspension is TEIN Super Street - High quality kit, complete with bottom adjustable ride height
-   The intake tubing and elbow have been replaced with alloy items from Fujita Engineering - RX-7 specialists in Japan.
-   An Omori water temp gauge on the A-Pilar, plus an Ultra turbo timer / turbo monitor. Steering wheel is a Momo "Race" item and there\'s a Razo carbon and alloy gear knob

Modification I have made since owning the car:
-   Apexi power FC and commander fitted and mapped by PIP @ WGT running standard boost 0.7 bar 285 BHP/242ft pounds of torque
-   New rear Callipers (powder-coated) supplied and fitted new pads fitted too.
-   Front callipers - stripped (powder coated) reassembled using new rebuild kits and new pads fitted too.
-   Goodridge stainless steel braided lines all round
-   Complete set of Racing Brake discs oversized and grooved.
-   Genuine Rx-7 FD Suspension bushes/rubbers/circlips
-    Super Pro polyurethane bushings - Front and Rear Suspension Bush kit
-   (rear subframe, all the arms and diff fully stripped, blasted, powder coated and fully re-assembled by myself with new bushes all round)
-   Full respray
-   Alloys fully refurbished (dismantled, respayed, highly polished, re-assembled) Look fantastic!

Words cannot describe this cars condition, it must be seen to be appreciated. It has no mechanical faults , everything is perfect. I am in no rush to sell but please no time wasters. I am not looking to part ex.

The price is £10,995 ono which is fair considering the mileage, condition and modifications.

I was genuinely very interested until I saw the price, regardless off 22,000 miles water seals go due to age, learnt this the hard way. GLWTS.

Yet... ;)

I,  personally,  cannot see where the asking price has come from.   Maybe if it hadn\'t been :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:ised, but it has and not with enough mods to warrant the asking price.  All on my opinion of course.

GLWS nonetheless.

Jong

The condition of the car and mileage warrants the asking price.

Clive one of the moderator\'s knows this car very well and he will also warrant how good the condition this car is in :)

Mate a good condition original 99 car is worth 8-10k at the moment a late rz or rsr go for 6 -9k so how does a 92 car made to look like a 99 warrant more?

In this market a realistic figure for yours is around the 6k mark and expect low offers the mileage in rx7\'s does not effect the value very much as most of the parts that wear will of been replaced anyway.  The only exception to this will be completely original one owner cars.

I wish none of the above is true and would love to see your car worth the sort of money you are asking as would every other rx7 owner but unfortunately no matter how many times you say it is doesn\'t make it so.

Nice that this guys for sale thread is plastered in comments saying it isn\'t worth what he\'s asking. It\'s worth what someone will pay for it, and nobody on here can predict what every buyer out there is looking for. For me personally, condition would be very important. I can fully appreciate that low mileage on the engine doesn\'t guarantee anything, but a car consists of more than just an engine, and if the condition of the rest of the car reflects the low mileage, then that makes it a lot more attractive than some of the scruffy cars that are out there.

I was told the same thing when I sold my Supra a few years back (again because the market wasn\'t good at the time), but I got exactly what I advertised it for. If I didn\'t already have an FD, I\'d be looking at this one.

And I really do think that for sale threads should be kept free of opinions on what something is, or isn\'t worth.

Good luck with the sale :Thumbs-up

I am with Macer on this one,

There is a saying "you get what you pay for" and this applies to this car in particular as this is one of the very best FD\'s I have ever seen

As John has said I do know this car and since it came here it has been treated with kid gloves and I also knew Jonathan who was it\'s previous owner.

It is obviously entirely up to the owner of anything to ask what he wants for money wise but the car above is really not to be confused or compared to a ragged to death FD that\'s had a a £500 blow over to make it look pretty:rolleyes:.

On a valuation for a full club member, a value that is a replacement value,  I would write this FD up at 12K bearing in mind not only its history but that this car essentially has a 5K paint job.

As for prices I have said for a long time that to find a special FD that has be properly cared for, 8K and up is what people need to look at, as I said "you get what you pay for"
All the best Clive

dont get me wrong if jong manages to get that much for this car then well done i say.

i am only pointing the prices above because what you want and what you get for an rx7 these days are 2 very different things. i was one of many people with really nice fd\'s with really good specs that couldnt sell and over the last 12 months there have been quite a few that in my eyes were worth well over 10k and have either had to be broken to realise the potential or drop by a lot of money to be able to sell.

if the condition is good and there is someone looking for a car like yours then you will sell, it may take 6-12 months but it will go. if you want to sell it reasonably quickly then you will need to look at the market and price it in line with everything else.

good luck

i agree with cyman been there got the t shirt , jong  you need to get a comp test on engine to help your sale :Thumbs-up

Brett

I think the issue here is that it is extremely bad form to do it on the for sale thread - if you want to discuss it, and the issues of getting the right price for a mint car start a thread in the chit chat section, please don\'t derail the sale thread.

I\'m happy to split this thread and move the discussion if the OP wants?

Thanks,

Brett

I was actually trying to be constructive and help they guy sell his car but when people that should know better are valueing a 1992 car that has been basterdised to look like a 99 car at 12k there isnt really a lot of hope.
