Gearbox issue :(

Hi peeps,

I have lost reverse and 5th on my 1996 fd. Reverse went first then 5th
Think reverse has eventually stopped 5th from working from possible
broken gear???

Any way just incase i have bought a gearbox from a 97 fd as a replacement
if i needed a new gearbox.

Any ideas how much it would cost in labour to fit a gearbox at all?

Normally around £150 gets a gear box changed

I would be an idea to check the clutch wear our while the box is out due to the work involved and cost if the gear box had to come out again due to clutch wear

Usually that includes changing the rear main oil seals in the engine while at it for the price that Clive has mentioned too.
Dont forget that clutch may need to be looked at for wear and no extra labour charge to get that changed at the same time.
