I am thinking about moving my FD3 Power steering reservoir bottle to give me some space for some pipework to run. I cannot see any reason I cannot unbolt this from the back of the powersteering pump and relocate it? if I do so would I be correct in thinking the height it sits at is quite important and it should be at or above the height it is currently mounted?

Thank you
Lee

Keep the height and it should be fine.

Oh.. that sounds interesting?? And after I modified my P/s mounting bracket and made special top hat spacers for it!
Any threads on here about that? I will have to have a search and a google.. Is this something you have done? Any pump reliability issues at all? and is wiring them up simple enough. Electrics is not my strong point!

Here is how ive done in my car. Havent hooked it up yet so cant say for sure that it works but shouldnt be any issues moving it.

I\'ve seen on some of Dragon\'s old cars that they cut down the bracket the pump attaches to the block with so it kind of sits where the air con pump would of been. Not sure how they did it but thats something to maybe look into as well

Thanks for the pics and suggestions.. I am quite liking the remote electric pump idea even if I have to bin my nicely modded P/S bracket.. I did look to see about shortening the bracket but could not see a way.. I will have a look again though for sure.

Ahh ok i didn\'t know that. Thought you have a normal fd motor.
If you\'re on facebook look up Chip Ursu and see what he\'d done with his car
