Good Evening to you all
well the convertible is off the Road for winter and getting ready for some bits and bobs to be done
what sort of Miles should i expect out of the plugs ?
it is used as a delay car and isn\'t ranted to much
all so it has started eating Alternator belts again any help with this would be grate

Alternator belts - you\'ve either got a pulley very sligjhtly out of alignment, or some rust or a nick on the pulley wheel that\'s catching - are they freying on the edges ?

Plugs - I could get a year out of mine with some hard driving, but used the Trailing \'9\'s all around rather than the mix of 7 and 9\'s that the manual suggests.  This is quite a common mod for anyone running a boosted car.  If the car doesn\'t have any flooding problems and starts easily - I\'d keep your old plugs, just check the electrodes are in good health - if you\'ve got breakdown of the electrode in the centre or bad fouling - time to change them.

I aways carry a set of 4 with me in any case - you never know when they are needed. :yes

(spare belts isn\'t a bad idea either)

do you have air pump removed etc? will cause you to eat through belts unless you have a double pulley.

As prof says - carrying a spare set of belts is a very good idea :)

Thanks for your help the Engine was rebuilt by RX Motors about 10000 m (3 years ago)
and the plugs have been in since then it didn\'t have any problems till recently when it just flooded twice in a month so i was wondering about the plugs and they are all 9\'s
so will get some New ones
the belt thing has been there from when i got it then it went for about 3000 with no problems and then started again i have cleaned the pulleys with emery cloth and that is when it was OK it is still running its air pump and every thing else is as it left the factory except engine we have had the car for 5 years and try to do some bits & bobs  every year
Sorry not a rotary man so will ask first
